Update
Update 9th June
We now have our little Loki home 😭🩵
He's still in a lot of pain & on three lots of medication, but all we can do is make him as comfortable as possible, & monitor him very closely over the next few days whilst he recovers 😣 The vets told us there is a chance he could have another blockage, but we're really hoping & praying that that doesn't happen...
It's definitely been a tough last few days... was a struggle in it's self to get time off work/no pay, then the hefty vet fees on top... so trying to manage and get through things as best as we can...

We are typically online a good handful of times a day, and always try to reply within minutes/a few hours (when we're not at work or asleep!) but simply can't be online 24/7 - more so right now, due to the obvious.

*Update 8th June*
Thank you so much for your kind words & prayers guys 🩵
Everything has been a bit hectic & we are completely beside ourselves at the moment 😭
Loki's surgery seemed to go ok, his notes have stated the obstruction/blockage was about half way...
We were told he would now need overnight care & monitoring for 48 hours, but because our own vets don't do overnight/emergency care, we had to pick him up & take him to different practice...
Our poor baby 😭we feel totally helpless right now...
Safe to say it's been so mentally taxing & looking to be financially taxing too 😭 (emergency vets first apt was around £300, surgery est. around £2k, then a further est. £400 for his 48 hour stay at the emergency vets whilst they monitor him, if nothing else is needed)
So yeah, not sure how we're exactly going to afford it as things are unfortunately very tight right now, but what else could we do? 🫠😭
Hoping & praying he recovers well & that we can pick him up on Sunday 🙏🏼🤞🏼😭

Hey guys,
Just a little update & heads up (did post over on our discord too, but I know not everyone is on there)
We've had a bit of a going on with our boy Loki 🙁 we had to take him to the emergency vets 1am last night/this morning... left with meds and suspected cystitis.
Unfortunately he was still having issues this morning (9am-ish) & hadn't been able to pass any liquids at all, so had to take him back to the vets again this morning & they've said he seems to have a urinary blockage & is requiring emergency surgery 😭
So please bear with us, & our apologies if we're a bit slow getting back to anyone/posting... We're hoping he's going to be ok... and just currently waiting to hear back from them once he's had his surgery 😟

i can imagine what you have to go thur. i have 5 fur babies and theyre not allowed outside because i fear something would happen to them. im thinking about investing in a catio.

I'm glad Loki is doing better. Did they tell you what the blockage was? I hope not kidney stones as it's horrible for my husband. Someone told me that the clay in the litter can get up their penis, but I have never had that problem with any of my cats.

He is beautiful 💕😍, i hope he has a good and fast recovery...i had similar issues with mine...he was also around 2...and he was in such pain...it broke my heart, the vet clinic was also extremely expensive, now he's recovered fully, and he's on permanent clinical urinary diet, i hope the best for Loki!!! Thank you love 🩵 Aww 🙁 It's awful isn't it! 😭 We've got him some Royal Canin Urinary Care wet food for now, vet didn't offer us a prescription but I'd rather try it to see if it helps & hopefully stops further issues 🤞🏼

Oh I hope he's ok. Is he a ragdoll cat, he surely looks like one. Always was wondering if you have pet insurance where your at. That might help with some of the cost
Yup, he's a ragdoll 🩵 We don't have him insured unfortunately 🙁 we did have, but had to cancel it around December last year due to financial difficulties 🙁 He's just under 2 years, so this is definitely something we wasn't expecting 😣

My cat is on permanent prescription food because of this happening twice :( so glad you caught it!!!
A blockage in a cat is serious business. I am so thankful you were able to get him to the vet. Take your time with your baby. Family is top priority.

Good morning, my cat had this same surgery for the same condition. He recovered well, I wish your baby all the best. It’s a very successful surgery and good recovery. You’ll probably have to change his diet to a prescription food, the vet will give you a script for it. My cat eats Hill’s c/d, it comes in hard or soft food. It’s specifically for cats with urinary issues. I wish you all the best
