i think it was important to me to have a1 be kind of. like. a nuisance. like it’s easy to see how someone might not have the patience for him when he ‘gets in one of his moods’. thomas spends all day at his bedside and he ignores him. then calls him at 2 in the morning. like on paper, its easy to see why thomas sees himself as the long suffering savior and a1 thinks no one else would put up with him this way
