All these years later and he still doesn't know how to say "Good. Good for you." and mean it. He might be nonverbal, but man is his face speaking at the top of his lungs to the feelings of his betrayal.

When did A2 stop being nonverbal? Or does he still nonverbally communicate in adulthood sometimes? (I will throw up if I stop thinking about these two)
he's still nonverbal sometimes in adulthood, but look homeward starts at a place where he's quite actively trying to make an effort to reconnect w a1/make a1 laugh/feel better/etcetc so he is talking quite a bit more than he normally would

I love the pressure difference between the two questions. Like a2 had strong emotions during the second, and/or did that thing where you trace over your letters sometimes after you’ve written them cause you’re unsure.
