A word on numbering your save file manually.
Little Refresher!
Don't know how to use other people's save files in the Sims?
1. Backup your current saves in a folder on your desktop
2. Save files are accessed by the game via the "saves" sub folder in your "The Sims 4" main folder [in the same place you find the mods folder].
3. Place the save file attached to this post in your "saves" folder.
You might have to renumber the save if you already have a save with that number. Here is a good set of instructions that was included for the "Simsiesave". or if you're more of a video person --> HERE.
Ramblings, you probably can safely ignore, especially if you know how saves and sharing saves work!! Don't hesitate to reach out if you're feeling confused!
Hi Everyone!
I don't share a lot about what I go through each time I upload a new save file, but ultimately, I hate the idea that it might corrupt. It's precious to me, in a way that it might not be precious to someone who isn't in charge of the maintenance of this huge file and project.
I've often been asked, why I don't just re-number the save file myself - which now I've taken to doing - but when you download save slot d, it comes DIRECTLY from my save folder - it's as uncorrupted as I can manage. Sims 4 is not the most stable of games - for whatever reason, saves can become corrupted and I don't want me meddling with it too much to be the cause. So I always provide save file slot 8 here. Whatever you number it after is your own prerogative. You can always come back here if anything goes wrong!
In the next post, I'm going to put links to the new worlds and stories (summary post) together with the save file. I didn't want to "pollute" that post with this stuff, but I thought it wise, with lots of new players and new patrons to talk about why numbers on save files matter:
Save files can be shared with each other. You download it - just as with mods. Save files go in the "Saves" folder as opposed to the mods folder of course! These folders are found under your Sims 4 subfolders. If you need any help, don't hesitate to reach out: this is literally the reason this patreon exists - to make sure the save file is maintained and supported!
Save files are numbered.
The fantasy save file holds the letter d slot.
If you already have another save that is lettered d, it will overwrite that save file and you will lose it! Always back up your old saves before placing a new one in your save file folder.
I will provide another save file (identical, but a ridiculous number), probably slot 888 this time (since we did 999 and 1000 last time). You can download either. But I trust 8 the most, as it hasn't been changed in any way that could corrupt it. It helps me with the stress ... ridiculous? Perhaps! But it's how I cope with the responsibility of protecting this treasure XD - please forgive me this little quirk.
If you have been playing the "Fantasy save BETA by Little Red Riding Sim" save file since the beginning or any time before November 15, whatever progress you have on that original save file might be lost if you forget to back it up or to renumber the new file.
Please back up your old saves before downloading the latest one!
