Looking into the future of the save file
Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I checked in! We finished Gnomehaven (Nordhaven) and a lot of people came to ask about an update with the fairy pack … then nothing.
As some of you will know, I always strive to update the save file in a way to include new gameplay from the latest expansion pack, to allow you to play through the new features while playing inside the save file. While updating this round, I found it incredibly stifling and a little boring in the end. I’m a little disappointed in what I made so far, so I will continue on and see what happens now …
The next update to the save file will likely be the final in that it seems unlikely we will get another world in the future. It will include gameplay from all the packs. The Isle of Fairies (Innisgreen) is being completed at a snail’s pace and I have no idea what to do for Adventure Awaits just yet! We will have to see … the problem is mostly that I haven’t played it at all so I don’t actually know the world and its character well enough.
For Ondarion, I’ve enrolled the help of some old friends now and can reveal that it will be called Wondarion - a play on the Wonderland universe but with its own lore and storytelling suited to what is possible with the Sims 4 gameplay and adding our own imagination (never a replica, always just inspired by). It will be a huge collaboration so watch this space so you can join in if you’d like!!
There are only 3 neighbourhoods in Ondarion so not sure how to bridge this yet as there will be 4 dynasties in the fantasy save file: The Court of Hearts, the Diamond Dynasty, the House of Spades and the Kingdom of Clovers.
While the Wondarion universe and collaboration is going on in the next few weeks, I aim to finish Innisgreen / the Isle of fairies likely on my own. The Isle of Fairies will include gameplay from Adventure Awaits. It has a “magic school” that uses the mechanics.
I’ll likely roll out some polls for all members: free and paid, as membership has grindednto a halt due to inactivity from the creator (me). I’m still working 2 jobs: anything from 50-60 hours a week and a maximum of 70. I’m trying my best to work less though and give more time to the save file so we can get this done and give it the update it deserves at this point!

I've got some ideas for Gibbi Point! (sorry in advance for the long comment) I looked into bits of lore for the world and tried to think of ways to tie it together. Since it's all about camps/retreats/recreation, you could lean into escapism and go with a Neverland/imaginary worlds theme. The world is a place where people escape, lost people are found, and imagination becomes real. I know there’d be some overlap with Grimmtosa, but there’s a literal Storyteller in this world, so I think it’s an excellent thread to pursue. I’m thinking two competing storytellers. One (modeled after the NPC Toshie Akamine) hands out quests/hosts getaways that encourage positive growth. Another set of storytellers (modeled after Jane and Star who own Love Highland) thrive on drama and chaos -- think reality TV messiness, fantasy edition. For neighborhoods/lots: a fun permanent childhood lot(s) a la Neverland with the pack’s modular playgrounds. Archery is a big thing in the pack, so maybe a Robin Hood-esque character and Sherwood Forest lot(s). The lore includes a gold mine, which somehow became crystals, so the formerly gold-rich could be the ones Robin Hood once stole from. And then maybe Maid Marian is a witch and she’s responsible for the geyser turning the gold into crystals (could call her Maid Merian (mer=sea) and make her a sea witch/mermaid). Additional ideas: Butterflies and moths are a big part of the pack, so maybe there are fairies that are associated with butterflies/day and fairies associated with moths/night. Could be a fun bit of lore that the butterflies/moths in this world are actually fairies. There could be a somewhat evil household with captured butterfly/moth fairies. Fairy dust is necessary for making imagination reality, which explains why they’re so sought after in this world. The bioluminescence of glowworms and jellyfish could be a result of all the fairy dust residue, imagination soaking into the world's ecosystem. Imaginary friends are in the pack, so this could be the place where they go when they fade in the real world as a child grows up (a Drop Dead Fred sim would be fun for anyone who gets the reference). Papercrafts is another feature, so maybe a lot/household that brings origami creatures/people to life. Some other possible ideas building on the lost theme: could have sims of people who’ve vanished (there’s a crashed plane so you could have Amelia Earhart for example), Bermuda triangle, Atlantis. Possible names: Giddy Point, Whimsy Point, Fibby Point.
Wow these are fantastic ideas that are right in line with how I like to set up the fantasy save file in a way that ties into gameplay and what we ALREADY have in the game but just with a fantasy style. I just discovered your save file and I would love to use it! I just have one question, it might be silly. Will I still be able to use the file if I do not own all of the DLC packs? Also, if I were to use your save file and then gradually purchase more DLC packs, will it update?

I won't get the newest EP at all (not supporting EA anymore and not interested in royal gameplay anyway) but I'm looking forward to everything else! Thank you for your wonderful work!
Thanks Anne! I understand the sentiment, but the Sims 4 has been my paintbrush all these 10 years and I can’t give it up. I do my part politically where I can and I do make a stand in other ways. This is not one of the ways I will make a difference. I’ve not chosen this battle but respect & admire your choice. I hope you will enjoy the save even without the new EP. I’ll make sure it doesn’t start in Wondarion!!
