📜 The Lore: The Empire That Cheated Death

2,500 years ago, as the world-ending First Cycle approached, the original inhabitants of Ternovis knew they could not flee. Instead, the Magisterium performed a desperate ritual to "live after death."

Now, they reside in the secluded northern reaches. Because they are immortal, they do not fear the Cycles. In fact, their extreme longevity makes them besties with the Elves! But eternity has a cost. The Undead of Ossaerium are deeply tragicomedic - they cling desperately to the rituals of life to keep their sanity. They still hold massive feasts (even though they can't eat), endless military parades, and chariot races.

The Society:

• The Aristocracy: Spoiled, bored, and beautiful High Vampires who surround themselves with mortals for novelty, companionship, and practicality. They keep mercenaries and servants as "pets," luring them with the promise of immortality (and occasionally snacking on them).

• The Lower Castes: Those whose transformation was less successful. Feral Revenants, skeletal knights, and bound spirits trying to keep their wild side on a leash.

• The Aesthetic: Byzantine grandeur! Lamellar armor, Roman oval shields, domes, mosaics, and an "Eternal Bureaucracy" where a contract signed 500 years ago is still legally binding.
