Short Story Anthology
I'm participating in an anthology for litrpg stories. I have to complete my story by the end of May 2027- so this is someways out.
It will be the shortest story that I've ever written with a word range of 5000-7000 words.
Part of the instructions:
Characters: You are encouraged (but not required) to use one or more characters from your existing work for purposes of cross promotion. Perhaps this is a chance to shine the spotlight on a beloved secondary character. Subtle references to additional characters of yours (or those of other LitRPG authors) is fine.
So, who would you like to see be the center of a short story- I'll give some options, but you can also suggest other characters in the comments.
The instructions also require no harem- so I don't think I'll use any of the Burke characters. Logically speaking no matter how much I like Apprentice, it is a less well selling series so I don't know about using a character from it. The same goes for Shaman's Call no matter how much I like the stories.
For different reasons, I likely won't consider any characters from a co-written story.
Otherwise the sky is the limit for suggestions- or even a totally new character.

This could be good opportunity to maybe introduce a new character that's derivative of the hell system in Wttm, just a thought 💭
for selfish reasons, I would love to see Rizal from Dragon Sorcerer. However, I think really good candidates would be are Captain Suther on his adventures before he met Tad, Cece (from her time dilation where she fought for a world who had a failed induction) or Lisella with her adventures after the gods are killed and her role in the new Ileria.
New character from WTTM with a new perspective could be very interesting. A house Kallestian officer could be gold.
Think we've touched on this before, but it's Cece or Samvek for me, as theres only one choice though, I've gone for Cece for her chance to shine.
I feel like you’re looking at it the wrong way. If it’s cross promoting, you don’t need it for WttM. Pick one with lots of growth potential—which would be something like Apprentice or Basic, rather than a completed (or almost completed) work. Apprentice would be Mason or Catherine’s Captain. Or Pumpkin. Pumpkin! Well. There’s how to make the series take off. Basic? The Sergeant. Just watching stuff happen.
Or…the Professor, exploring the Tower without a mage to tell her what not to touch, or open the bestest doors.
A new character u will incorporate for later stories or later on in existing stories would be cool
Could even have them be someone you use for future short stories. Like they keep getting their own lore drops as short stories but pop up in your full size books as an Easter egg or eventual side character
Simone. She's easily relatable without needing a ton of exposition. And a day in her life would be fun.
