Regarding Unzipping Issues & Update 0.255
We noticed comments indicating that a small number of players are having difficulties decompressing the game file in split .zip archive format and do not have utilities such as 7-zip installed.
We don't want to force you to install anything besides the game itself on computer so we are going to launch an emergency release 0.255 tomorrow in the form of self-extracting zip file packs, with all known in-game bugs and issues fixed.
The reason why we split the .zip pack was that the game's size has surpassed Mega's daily download quota (4GB). We decided to drop Mega in 0.24 release for the aforementioned reason, but some patrons have expressed frustration over the lack of Mega links so we added it back.

You get the full game (Steam release) and the uncensored version (patch download from developer support website; aka patreon).

They say tomorrow, which has came to pass. Expect a few more days, since they also want to include some fixes in this 0.255 build.
Also, providing checksums of any files you create and posting them along with the download links will help validate the file after we download it, to ensure it is authentic and complete.

Instead of consumer level stuff like gdrive/dropbox/mega/etc, have you considered a real solution that supports multi-regional access, large file sizes, and much more reliable? I'm a cloud/devops engineer and I would recommend either google cloud platform (GCP) "Cloud Storage" or Amazon Web Services (AWS) "S3". Cloud Storage or S3 are object storage platforms that won't give you the trouble user level stuff like the above will. using powerarchiver since several years, tried several downloads, but crc errors at each try. what about a patch file to update previous release ?
If there was ever software people SHOULD be forced to install, 7-zip has to be it... and while I'm here, I presume folks here are aware of Mega deleting accounts lately? Modders from the Illusion games Discord have had their OWN work erased by Mega with no excuse offered and their accounts pulled. So yeah, Mega ain't any better than WinZip it seems.
It's probably due to copyright claims. Mega and Gdrive have stricter rules regarding DMCA
One thing you could look into is Inno Setup. It's a software designed to make setups and self-extracting archives. GOG uses it, and makes setups that have the main exe, and a bunch of bin files that contain actual data. They usually split them at around 4 GB (the file size limit of the FAT32 filesystem).
I had no problems downloading or unzipping 0.25.

Not a single link works as intended. Mega, is being painfully slow, Google give me corrupted files, Baidu is a hack paradise, and MediaFire, much like the old days, sits down and passes out. Broken links are broken. 4g is a large file size, but I would be accepting of a Torrent if it meant a clean and easy download at this point.
I was having an issue where if i tried t extract both files to the same folder they were overwriting things... I ended up extracting only one file (the larger one) and the game ran for a bit then crashed... haha
for my issue; I was using googledrive instead of mega or mediafire and 7zip couldn't unpack their versions correctly. Re-downloading from mega and both packs had no issue combining during unzip procedure. If you are having trouble with one source, just try another and see if that works.
It could be that the one of the files got corrupted during download.
I had issues with trying to extract the files yesterday after downloading. Got some errors every time I tried. I checked and noticed I was using a really old version of 7zip. downloaded and installed the newest version, then I had no problem extracting the files for the game. so check your 7zip version, its probably out of date
