Realistic Graphics Mod — Development Update, New Screenshots & Release Plans!

It's been almost three weeks since I announced the return of Realistic Graphics Mod, and today I'm excited to share more screenshots and some details about the upcoming release!

Development has been progressing well! The sky textures from the original RGM have been adapted to the latest version of ETS2, and most of the lighting improvements are already in place. I'm now focusing on refining the visuals, balancing lighting and weather conditions, and fixing the remaining issues.

Here are some new screenshots showing the current progress! Keep in mind that the mod is still under development, so some visual details may change before release.

Release Date & Availability

When will RGM be released?

I'm aiming to release RGM in Early Access during the first week of November, for both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator! This is a tentative release window, depending on the remaining testing and refinements.

Will RGM be free or paid?

The full version of RGM will be a Premium mod published on Modsy, with subscriptions available through Patreon and Lemon Squeezy.

There will be two subscription options:

  • RGM — $3/month: Access to Realistic Graphics Mod.

  • Mod Pass + RGM — $5/month: Access to both Realistic Graphics Mod and all mods included in Mod Pass.

The existing Mod Pass will remain $3/month, without RGM included.

I'm also planning a free Lite version for Steam Workshop, featuring a selection of the graphics improvements.

Will RGM use DLSS 5 or ReShade?

Neither DLSS 5 nor ReShade will be required or included in the initial Early Access release. My main goal is to make the game look as realistic as possible using RGM alone, without relying on additional graphics tools.

However, I plan to introduce optional DLSS 5 integration and my own ReShade preset in a future update for those who want to use them.

More details about the release will be shared closer to launch.

Thank you for your patience and continued support!
