Gnomish Monster Hunter Wagon Map Pack!

In a world full of monsters, be a hunter.

I bring you the Gnomish Monster Hunter Wagon, a large, 3-level wagon pulled by a massive clockwork steed known as S.T.E.V.E (Steam Turbine Equine Vehicular Experiment), as well as a steam-powered engine in the wagon itself that can manage the treads independently if/when the steed in unavailable.

The wagon is crewed by a small band of gnomish inventors and hunters, while the wagon itself is owned and operated by Twindle Tammernock, a gnomish artificer that took the business over from her father upon his recent passing. The wagon moves about the kingdom, following rumors of monstrous creatures terrorizing farms, hillsides and villages to find work for their specific set of skills.

The wagon has [4] levels, including the exterior and rooftop.

Wagon Exterior & Rooftop

The wagon exterior is comprised of a split-level frame, with a mounted ballista on the tallest point of the wagon, and a small platform below it that can serve as storage or a suitable platform with cover to defend the wagon against attackers. S.T.E.V.E. is attached to the wagon and is capable of following simple instructions such as following easy directions, travelling for a specific number of hours and stopping under certain criteria.

Lower Level | Engine Room

The Lower Level Engine Room is where the steam-powered engine sits, fed by [4] tanks that power the treads of the wagon, which assist S.T.E.V.E in his wagon-pulling duties and can power the wagon entirely for short periods of time.

Mid Level | Shop & Barracks

The Mid Level serves as the main work shop and barracks for the gnome hunters and inventors, crammed with shelves and drawers full of inventions, spare parts, tools and supplies for their trips. The area is designed for Small creatures, and Medium creatures find themselves cramped and have Disadvantage on Athletic and Acrobatic Skill Checks.

Top Level | Captain's Quarters

The Top Level holds the private quarters of the captain, who has some controls over the treads and engine, as well as suitable room for experiments, repairs and other work. This chamber is usually home to Twindle and her Steel Defender, Sprocket.

The Map Pack comes with [2] variations of the wagon exterior, one of which allows you to place a PNG tile of whatever mounted weapon you desire. I have included both the Ballista and a specialized Cannon that could be used, depending on the desired tech level of your campaign. This also allows you to easily rotate them to convey their current facing.

How do I use this wagon in my campaign?

Transport - The PC's may want or need transportation to a particularly dangerous location, so hiring the Gnomish Monster Hunter Wagon for both protection and more comfortable transportation could be a good option to keep everyone in a similar space.

Rescue - If the PC's ever find themselves battling a fearsome creature out in the wilds that is getting the better of them, you may want to have the gnomes come to their rescue. Perhaps they heard the ruckus and went to investigate, or perhaps they were hired by some other entit to hunt the very same creature.

Competition - A little friendly competition never hurt anyone, and perhaps the PC's are chasing down a dangerous bounty that has also drawn other potential bounty hunters to the scene. This may help provide some fun social and combat encounters for your players.
