[Mod] Customizable Daily Maximum Relationship Gain Caps (make Friendship, Romance, Romantic Satisfaction gains more gradual) - Sims 4

Another little tangent taken, but I think it's worth it. There are other mods that focus on similar concepts, this is just one more different take on handling making relationship progress less "immediate".

Direct link to new Toolbox version going with this is also below for your convenience.

This lets you define a daily cap for how many relationship points two Sims can gain in a day.

You can set caps separately for friendship, romance and romantic satisfaction.

The cap is per sim interacted with / individual to each relationship.

The interaction to change the caps is under "Actions".

NOTE: on what points mean

  • a full positive romance bar is 100 points (0 to 100 is positive)

  • a full positive friendship bar is 100 points (0 to 100 is positive)

  • a full positive romantic satisfaction bar is 75 points (0 to 75 is positive)

You can set the daily point gain caps from 1 to 99.

EXAMPLE OF IN GAME EFFECT:

Say your friendship cap setting is 30.

If Bella Goth gain a cumulative total of 30 friendship points that day with her husband (no matter if they lost points in between or not), they can't gain any more friendship points until either they sleep a full night OR until 24hrs have passed, whichever comes first. (But she can still gain friendship with Alexander, until that cap is reached with him too, and can still gain Romance with her husband, until the romance cap is reached, etc).

Should certain traits, etc, be immune to the point caps? Let me know!

I would exclude sims with the Friend of the World Trait from this! They get that after achieving that aspiration so they will have earned it.

With the difficulty level I have set for building relationships, I don't even think i could generate 30 point in a single day :o)

Sounds like you're already covered then aha! The point of this one is not to make relationshipsm gains harder, but to imitate how in real life there's kind of a threshold of how much liking a person can grow in a certain day. However this or using mods that make relationship points harder to get still have a very similar result: relationships build slower indeed! The game itself, I feel, has improved quite a bit on this over time, even!

I think the lovebug trait should be immune to the romance cap, or have it's cap be doubled! The trait is all about falling in love hard & fast. On an opposite note, unflirty & romantically reserved should have an automatically decreased cap.

Hi, being romance gain is bilateral, a trait that would be immune also forces immunity on the other sim - so I was thinking traits like ones made to imply the sim having them has this 'convincing' power on the other sim also rather than things that would influence only the one sim - at least to start with 🤔 what do you think? Maybe lovebug does have the convincing power, would be happy to hear more opinions or discuss further! On the 'decrease' side ie capping faster if one of the Sims involved is not into relationships, the same problem can apply but overall the bilateral aspect seems more explainable in the negative direction to me for some reason 😂 so that can be done without the logic suffering I think
