[Patch] General Info about patch-related RPO Collection changes

Hello again everyone,

Tomorrow, a TESTING version of patch-updated RPO Collection mods will come out to A FEW PLAYERS, so it can be verified that no adverse effects are observed before broad release.

Once that is ascertained, it will be uploaded for everyone.

As said before, sim families are too core to the game to handle lightly.
Nobody likes waiting but most people like it better than a broken save :)

Here is some general info about changes that were applied to the updated Collection in reaction to the patch:

  • Regarding M20 extended family auto tracking: Since more extended family is now base game, RPO M20 is DISCONTINUED.

  • Regarding M21 in law and step family auto tracking: Since in-law and step-family is now base game, RPO M21 is DISCONTINUED.

  • Regarding M04 Paternity:

    • You will notice that due to the changes in the tree and how it now works with relationship statuses, if Sim A is married to Sim B who then gets a child with someone else (Sim C), it will be clear in Sim A's relationship panel towards the child that the child is not Sim A's (it might say 'step-son' for example, even when the sim thinks it's their actual son). It is not possible anymore to "disguise" the paternity in Sim Profile statuses. The tree also shows the 'truth' but that was always so.

      • I assume that EA's pack-locked 'secret child' feature might mask the truth in sim profile (who knows), but it IS pack-locked, and using pack-locked systems for the exact same purpose as they're used in the pack but in a BG compatible way could be considered violation of rights, so I will not look into doing that. That is also why I won't try to apply the tree masking that they do. HOWEVER for people who do have the pack, I will try to integrate paternity features into that and vice versa... best I can, which might be very much or not much, we'll see.

    • I will probably have to update M4 again when the pack is out, for better integration of features with the pack. There is also a general feature update to that mod that I started a looooong time ago that I need to finish... but CPS overhaul is supposed to get finished first.

Milestones Expanded is still broken. I fixed it for the patch and converted it to using Toolbox BUT somewhere along the way I did something wrong and haven't sorted it out yet.

All other mods are still reported updated and / or fine, see my previous post for more details.

That's it for today's news. Happy week-end!
