Inquisitor Trainer: Second Week Progress Report — The Best Heretic Ending

Hey guys! Just a little progress report!

Yesterday, I spent some more time fixing and polishing the Purity Seal Business system, and so far, it's working pretty well! This gives you an alternative way to earn income, especially if you're playing the Loyalist Path, without having to dance naked in the Undercity. Because, well... not everyone wants to get sexual just yet, right? LOL.

Anyway, I'm also still working on the Best Heretic Ending!

The biggest challenge right now is making Heidi's growing ambition feel natural. At first, she simply enjoys being adored by the people of the Undercity. After all, her brothel offers some much-needed entertainment to the manufactorum workers who spend their lives suffering under the rule of the Upper Spire. But over time, that entertainment turns into dependency. And this is where The Keeper, a manifestation of Slaanesh, begins tempting Heidi to turn that dependency into a means of control.

I'm trying to weave a little philosophy about pleasure, dependency, and power into their conversations, until Heidi eventually starts thinking:

"Why stop at being Queen of the Undercity when I can rule the entire planet of Chunnov?"

But there's one little problem... the Genestealer Cult! They're preparing Chunnov for the arrival of a Hive Fleet, and Heidi certainly doesn't want the planet she's planning to rule to get devoured by Tyranids first. 

So Heidi teams up with Soryn and Kivella to plan an infiltration of the Genestealer nest using the Necron teleportation technology she acquired earlier. Soryn handles the intelligence, while Kivella, being an assassin, prepares to deal with the Magus.

Now, here's the part I'm most excited about: PLAYER CHOICE!

You'll actually get to decide how the Best Heretic Ending plays out, with two very different approaches:

1. Sci-Fi Assassination Route

If you're into tactical infiltration and grimdark sci-fi action, you can choose to eliminate the Magus with Kivella's help. This route is more straightforward, and focused on assassination.

2. Lirieth Route — Seduction & Feeding

If you prefer something sexier, kinkier, and darker, you can choose to bring the Magus to Lirieth's dungeon instead of killing her.Remember Lirieth's BDSM dungeon that Heidi visited earlier in the game? Well, this time Heidi gets an idea: Why kill the Magus when I know someone who might enjoy having her? 

So Heidi basically offers the Magus to Lirieth as a little "gift." And for a Drukhari, a captive's suffering can be quite a feast. And who knows? Maybe Lirieth will appreciate the gesture enough to help Heidi out, or even consider joining the BDSM side of the Pink Pearl!

Same objective, but two completely different ending experiences. That's what I love about visual novels!

Now, moving on to the artwork!

I want to portray the Pink Pearl as a place overflowing with pleasure, where everyone seems happy and lost in their own indulgences, while Slaaneshii secretly feasts on the desires of its patrons. There's a rather disturbing kind of symbiosis going on here. The people of the Undercity need Heidi to escape their miserable lives. Heidi needs their devotion to expand her power. And Slaaneshii grows stronger with every desire indulged, every obsession deepened, and every pleasure taken too far.

Everyone thinks they're getting exactly what they want. But the more they indulge, the deeper they fall. And we all know how that ended for the ancient Aeldari… Yeah, no matter which path you choose, there's really no escaping the darkness of the 40K universe. LOL.

Unfortunately, I can't share the artwork just yet. I've already made several attempts, but none of them have quite captured what I have in mind.

I'm aiming for something surreal, and it's turning out to be harder than I expected! Hopefully, I'll have something to share in the next two or three days.

But don't worry, the Best Heretic Ending update is still on schedule for October 31, 2026!

So yeah, that's it for now. Back to work!
