The Ending Is Here — A Simple Look at the Final Routes
Hey everyone! I’m currently working on the ending structure for Inquisitor Trainer, so I wanted to give you a quick overview of how the story branches and what I’m focusing on right now.
Spoiler warning: this post discusses the ending routes.
As you already know, the story has two main paths: the Loyalist route and the Heretic route. The current plan is to have two endings for each route, making four main endings in total. They’ll be presented in order, starting with the strongest possible victory and moving down to a more partial outcome.
For this update, I’m focusing specifically on the Loyalist route’s Winning Absolute ending—the strongest Loyalist outcome. To reach it, your minigame score must be at least 90, which means you’ll need to win most of the time.
So, here’s the situation. (Spoilers start here.)
After Heidi wins the minigame, the situation is still far from over. The Imperial forces have managed to push the cult back into its main lair beneath the undercity, but the cult has not been defeated. The remaining cult forces are still organized and fighting as one because the Magus controls them through the broodmind—a psychic network that connects the Genestealers and allows her to coordinate their movements, attacks, and defenses.
The Magus has also been using that same network to send a signal to the Hive Fleet waiting in orbit. The fleet is getting closer to Chunnov and is waiting for the final landing signal before beginning the invasion. As long as the Magus remains active and the signal keeps broadcasting, the Imperium cannot stop the Hive Fleet directly.
Heidi’s victory has only bought the Imperium some time. The cult forces are concentrated inside the lair, the Magus is still controlling the broodmind, and the Hive Fleet is preparing to land. That’s when Cordelia presents Heidi with two choices—neither one easy.
Cordelia’s Offer — What Kind of Inquisitor Do You Want to Be?
Cordelia gives Heidi two choices, but neither one is easy.
Option 1: Enter the lair with the bomb
Heidi can take the containment bomb into the Magus’s lair, plant it near the relay, and try to capture the Magus—dead or alive. This gives Heidi a chance to stop the signal without destroying the entire planet. She may be able to rescue Agnicia, save the people of Chunnov, and force the Hive Fleet to retreat.
But the risk is enormous. The Magus could escape, the lair could be sealed from the inside, and Heidi may end up trapped with no way out. If the bomb becomes her only option, she would have to activate it and sacrifice herself.
Option 2: Order Exterminatus
Heidi can think like an Inquisitor and choose the guaranteed solution: authorize Exterminatus against Chunnov. This would destroy the cult, the relay, and the entire planet before the Hive Fleet can land. The invasion would be stopped for certain, and Heidi would survive.
However, every innocent person on Chunnov would die too—including anyone Heidi was trying to save. It would be the safest military decision, but also the darkest one. Heidi would have to live with the fact that she chose to destroy an entire world. Cordelia makes it clear that this is not just a tactical decision. It is a test of what kind of Inquisitor Heidi wants to become. If Heidi chooses the lair, she risks her own life to save the planet. If she chooses Exterminatus, she proves that she is willing to sacrifice the planet to guarantee victory. Cordelia is prepared to recognize that decision and elevate Heidi directly as an Inquisitor—but the promotion would come with the guilt of Chunnov’s destruction.
That’s all I can share publicly for now. In the next post, I’ll share the NSFW spoilers along with the NSFW artwork. As you know, I need to comply with Patreon’s policies, so all NSFW artwork will be shared exclusively with patrons.
Cheers,
