The Last Journey of Inquisitor Trainer & What’s Next for Mortis Invicta

Hey guys!

Inquisitor Trainer 1 is getting closer and closer to the finish line. I'm genuinely planning to wrap up the story progression by the end of this year. Yeah, really. By the end of this year.

A project I've been developing for so long is finally approaching its ending. I just need a few more months to finish some side stories, add the remaining lewd scenes, and then... BAM! Done!

Once the story is finished, I'll move into the polishing phase. That means improving dialogue, touching up art I'm not fully satisfied with, finally replacing some of the placeholder tracks that have been driving me crazy, refining the music and sound effects, and—most importantly—fixing bugs.

If a joke didn't land, a scene wasn't satisfying enough, some dialogue felt off, or maybe a few of those grimdark H-scenes could use a little more voice acting... hahaha! Tell me!!!!!

What I honestly need the most, though, is ideas for how to better resolve the story premises I've already set up. One piece of criticism that keeps coming up for Inquisitor Trainer is that the story feels a bit shallow. That's fair, and it's something I've been thinking about.

So if you have ideas for better ways to conclude certain plotlines, or tie together the story threads that are already there, please let me know! I'd be incredibly grateful. The Emperor bless you!

Oh, and if you know any funny 40K jokes that would fit naturally into the dialogue—Cultist-chan jokes, the kind of dumb Ork jokes I love, or just some quality Grimdank, also send them my way!

That said, I'm only talking about improving what's already there. No new story arcs or major additions. Story progression itself is basically saying goodbye.

At the end of the day, I want this game to belong to all of us. My hope is that even after the game is finished, discussions about Inquisitor Trainer will continue. And maybe, after years of tweaking things based on your feedback, the game will start to feel like something we all built together. :)

Now, let me share a bit more about the game demo I released the other day… What can you expect from Mortis Invicta?

It is  gonna be pretty different from Inquisitor Trainer. Instead of a dating sim where you bang hot 40K Sisters and mature, sexy Inquisitor ladies from one H-scene to another, this one’s more like a slow-burn visual novel.

The romance takes its time. You’ll get to know the characters, build relationships, and watch things develop naturally before anything happens.

What will be in the game?

1. Simple Dating Sim

You’ll be accompanied by three beautiful crew members for now (more will be added as the story progresses), each with their own unique personalities and hidden secrets. Build relationships, earn their trust, uncover their stories, and perhaps even find romance along the way.

But here's the thing :

I'm planning to give characters their own sexual orientations and fetish preferences. If a character is a lesbian, then no matter how hard you try to flirt with her, it's simply not going to happen.

Same thing with fetish preferences. If she isn't into feederism, then no amount of burgers you throw at her is going to make her fall for you.

That's why paying attention to dialogue is important. The clues will be there. Just like real life... you don't walk up to someone, pick the correct dialogue template, and instantly get the girl. I'll scatter hints throughout conversations. Fail to pick up on them, and you'll get penalties. Characters may become less friendly or less interested in you.

I’m also planning to create short romance stories involving daemons and various xenos species in the future—not just characters from the Imperium. Oh, and let’s not forget Cultist-chan. I’d feel guilty leaving her behind. She’s way too cute for that. Haha…

You'll be able to take the person you're currently pursuing pretty much anywhere. Their portrait will show up in the left-side window, like in this screenshot. You can hang out with them, talk to them, look at them, or... uh... maybe "use" them. Lol. Honestly, I don't know yet. I'll probably figure out a better name for that button once I get around to coding it properly for situations where a character portrait is actually there.

2. Collectibles

You guys already know I hide a lot of collectibles throughout the game. Some contain lewd artwork, some contain short stories, some contain gossip from the 41st Millennium, and some are simply there because I thought they were funny.

One thing I'm planning to do is add some of my older comics and artwork to this section.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY:

I want to help fellow artists who are also into 40K. If you'd like your work to be featured here (with full credit inside the game, of course), let me know. Or if you're a small indie dev making cool stuff that nobody seems to have noticed yet, I'd love to help give you some visibility.

Again, I'm trying to bring the community into this project wherever I can.

Anyway, that's all for now.

Bye, Fellow Citizens of the Imperium!

Sorry but your comment about "bang hot 40K Sisters and mature, sexy Inquisitor ladies from one H-scene to another" is simply not completely true considering that if you wanted to do a complete lesbian route it was almost impossible when there were many dicks in the game that screamed otherwise. Yes, most of that could be avoided BUT if you didn't have the stats you needed you had to end up having sex with the main male of the church. Too much testosterone is in this game.

Yeah… that’s true. The lesbian route is still a bit messy. That’s mainly because both the coding structure and the game design have been messy from the start. You know, I originally came from an art background, so the coding and overall structure were somewhat disorganized in the beginning, and that ended up affecting things later on as well. I’ve made a note of your feedback. As the game moves toward completion—hopefully by December at the latest—I’ll be going back and cleaning up all the routes. Thanks again. I really appreciate it.

I look forward to seeing the growth of this new game, 40K is one of my most beloved series, and yet it has so few games, especially games of this genre, surprisingly few for such a rich setting with so much potential for romance. Hopefully a T'au joins the retinue as a subject of your corruption, for the greater good of course.

Thanks, fellow heretic.. 😄 You know it’s definitely going in. Greg: “Wait, are you trying to arrange my marriage?” Their diplomat: “Arrange? No. We merely calculated that your compatibility is 97.4% and that the resulting partnership would increase productivity, social stability, and mutual happiness.” Lol! I really hope I can tell a better story this time compared to Inquisitor Trainer 1. It’s been more than six years, and during that time I’ve gone much deeper into 40K lore, so hopefully that shows in the writing. Honestly, it is indeed difficult trying to fit gentle romance into a universe that’s basically built on people being horrible to each other. But as I’ve become more comfortable exploring the kinks I enjoy and reflecting on my own interests, I think I’ve found good ways to weave them naturally into the setting instead of just throwing them in. For example, one idea I want to explore soon is a romance with an android/Skitarii character who relies heavily on prosthetic limbs, and how the protagonist learns to care for and accept her even when those augmentations are removed. Or perhaps exploring a character who is drawn to the Slaneshi path because they feel understood there, especially in their desire for bodily transformation. In a strange way, the Slaneshi path can seem far less judgmental than much of the Imperium. (Yeah, that’s my chaotic side showing. Heresy indeed. . I also want to highlight Greg as someone who understands the Chaos perspective better than most. Hopefully he doesn’t end up getting tempted into joining Chaos himself! The Emperor forbid!!! Then there are the weirder ideas. Maybe a feederism-themed romance with an Ork. Maybe a Necron queen who thinks she’s basically Cleopatra. My main goal is to make Mortis Invicta feel different from Inquisitor Trainer 1. The most common criticism I received was that a lot of scenes in IT1 needed more context (which I agree is true), so this time I want the narrative, worldbuilding, and relationships to carry much more weight. Hopefully I’m on the right track. We’ll see how things look after the first couple of updates. I’m definitely more confident than I used to be, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous too.
