SID Gaming State of the Studio - August 2026 (Public)

We've been getting a lot of chatter on all of our communication channels about what's going on, so we decided to make another summary post rather than expect you to hunt down the different announcements individually.

Park After Dark is not abandoned.

Even with the multiple turnovers in artists and writers that we've seen since the game started, this has always been our flagship game, and we've always been willing to do whatever it took to keep it going. However, multiple of those attempts at "whatever it took" were unsuccessful, leading to things like large time gaps and the Kim Possible update that no one, team or players, was really happy with. This is why Ink and Paint came to be, as a proving ground for the latest new artist, a smaller project we could write off if things didn't work out again. Thankfully that hasn't been the case, and we're back on track for a new proper PAD update next release cycle, right after we finish the TDI build currently in progress. The current plan is to finally complete the Pocahontas storyline and to redo the Kim Possible stuff, possibly furthering it as well depending on budget. We've already got a much better and more faithful set of character designs to work with:

Magixxx Conquest is abandoned.

The desire to continue this game is there, but we don't have the bandwidth to search for replacement talent nor to keep another game in progress at this time. Since we are still months if not years away from reaching that point, this game can be considered abandoned.

Total Degeneracy Island is in active development.

Even now, we're quite happily surprised with how much support this game has gotten. PAD put us on the map, but TDI has launched us to critical and financial success. Development on this game is going strong, and with our current progress, you can expect the next version to drop mid-late September for all support tiers.

Ink and Paint is being put on-hold.

The team had a lot of fun building this one, but at this point, it's served its main purpose. The majority of comments we get on it say that the quality is outstanding, but the gameplay and character engagement are a bit lacking. This is unsurprising, since that was the exact point, putting out an art-heavy project that didn't spend a lot of resources on other things. We'd like to continue work on it, progressing the girls and adding the rest of the PAD cast, but we will not be devoting entire dev cycles to it for the forseeable future, instead only working on a few assets at a time in between other things. Those will be posted here as pledge tier rewards, until we feel we have enough content to make a new full build.

SID Gaming does not use AI.

...Mostly. In the interest of full transparency, our official stance is that generative AI can be an immensely powerful concepting tool, and it was used during the planning phase of I&P for things like generating the layouts for the club backgrounds in the correct perspective. No asset you see in the game was created with AI, instead using traditional digital drawing and animating tools.
