Firebreak Dev Update #8

Happy February! Kentyrr and I are dutifully climbing the endless development ladder, and have finally hit our first fork.

The number of scenes left in the game (though sadly, not the number of renders) can finally be counted on my fingers. (Yes, I do have all of them.)

As of this writing, we have two new character introduction scenes to finalize with art, and then we begin crafting the segue into the game proper.

The second workflow is the integration workflow where the story gets packaged into the framework and can be playtested for pacing, plot holes, and flow.

Chapter 1 can end in one of two branches, each being flavored by choices up to that point.

The introductory scenes for the love interests each serve to give the player a window into her appearance, personality, and motivations, but the heavy digging into the personalities of each will come in chapters where those characters are ascendant. The plan was to give the player enough for a starting point and decide which way to develop that relationship from there.

As of this writing the planned "kink" tags are:

Adventure, BDSM, Ass Focus, Tits Focus, Corruption, Anal, Oral, Creampie, Paizuri, Stockings/Lingerie, Exhibitionism, Female Dom, Male Dom (Player Choice), Handjob, Footjob, Groping, Group Sex, Interracial, Sex Toys, Spanking, Vaginal Sex, Virgin, Voyeurism

If you don't see something you were looking forward to on there, that doesn't mean we won't adjust or consider others, some are just better left unadvertised given how payment processors apply selective morality.

Development has been moving ahead smoothly with no major speed bumps, however DAZ is still not usable for posing or scene creation on 5000-series RTX cards, so we are still working around that hand-off.

Arcane Ink Studios has also reached out to us to offer their patching service for our upcoming game, so I'm hopeful that updates from this point forward will be managed from within the game itself.

We are shooting for a late Spring, Early Summer launch if all goes well, with subsequent updates hopefully taking less time than the initial chapter that required an all-new framework and feature coding.

Like Chasing Sunsets, we plan to release from Patreon, Subscribestar, Itch, and GOG initially, with a Steam version launching once we've completed between 30% and 50% of the final game content.

One note...The character cards that we've been releasing have some date errors on them as have been pointed out by eagle-eyed fans. We consider these to be pre-release content subject to change, and one of my extra duties this week will be to build a comprehensive timeline with dates between Firebreak and Chasing Sunsets plugged in so I can avoid overlapping the timelines incorrectly in the launch product.
