February Status and Updates
Hi All,
If you can believe it, I actually started updating my mods at the beginning of the month and... yeah... It was a bit of disaster due to both the patch and other things. I had done some updates and redone so much to my careers (which have cross references across other mods of mine so I had to change the references on those too) and never realized how many career files I have and references to those files in my mods only for none of that to have been necessary (thankfully because Lot51 eventually made a fix) and to have to restart my original changes into the previous versions of my mods that didn't have their references changed because in the end it would still save me more work. At some point, if this is a permanent change, I'll go back and redo the careers all by hand again with the updates but I wanted to make sure that for now I just got them out in some form.
It was a frustrating hot mess. So sorry about the delay. I normally only wait until after the pack drops but alas... Part of me will be so happy once they abandon this game so we're finally stable but I know that's unlikely to happen for the foreseeable future... But who knows?!
Anyways, any mods not updated below should be cleared for the patch/pack. I also have a new mod you can read about below. Thank you so much for your patience!!! I'm going to be AFK for a week to visit family but I'll respond as soon as I get back.
Happy Simming!
Mod Updates
All of my mods not updated below do not need to be updated and are working with the current version of the game.
If you are having an issue with any of my mods, please refer to the Troubleshooting pages here and here. If after utilizing those resources, your issue still exists, please report it on Discord. Thanks!
Patrons, you can get all of the updates zipped here (thanks again for your patience!).
Careers - All of my careers, including more comprehensive mods that also include careers either as an addon or for NPCs like SimNation Travel, Healthy Living, and Education Overhaul, now require Lot51's Core Library in addition to any script file they already have in order for your travel and other pickers not to be broken. Go get it HERE. It's safe to say if you're having a problem with one of my mods and you don't have Core Library, that's probably the first thing you should update/add.
Custom Nuptials (v2.9.9) - Updated for patch changes.
Divergent Sims (Public v5.9/Patreon v6.5) - Updated for patch and minor bug fixes.
Family Connections - This mod is obsolete after the patch as these relationships are now possible and tracked through genealogy via the game.
Freelance Chef (v4) - Updated for patch changes; needs to updated for unrelated game processes post-pack.
Healthcare Redux (Public v9.9.6/ Patreon v10.9.7) - Updated for patch and minor bug fixes.
Healthy Living (v1.9.9) - Fixed an issue with unlocked interactions.
International Relations (v3.7)- Updated for an issue with Training Sessions. Needs Core Library.
Pet Careers (v1.5) - Updated for patch and to fix a payout error.
SimFinancial (Public v1.7/Patreon v2) - Public Release. Updated for patch. Child Support/Alimony module (Patreon version) updated.
Summer Camp (v5.5) - Updated for patch.
Early Access
Career Services - PlumSeeker Edition
Sapphire/Azure - March 3rd
Midnight/Violet - March 10th
So instead of doing a completely new mod I decided that jobseeking falls under the Career Services umbrella and so therefore redoing the mod to include this would be the better option to have everything in one mod all dealing with the same things since all the other features of Career Services are all opt-in as well.
How Plumseeker Edition Works
To use the Career Services mod, all sims must sign up for a Plumseeker Career Services account. This will give them access to the full offerings including the Temporary Gigs Agency, Unemployment Benefits, Career Coaching and Aptitude Test, and Jobseeking and Recruitment services.
When your sim wants to find a job, they will no longer be presented with the career panel. They will have to Apply for Part-time or Full-time Job. The option also exists to apply for a Freelance Job without going through the application process. At this time, they can only have one active application of each kind but I'm will be expanding it at some point. Applying to a part-time position is easier and the process is much faster.
Before they can apply to any positions, however, the must have written a resume and a cover letter. For part-time careers, they only need a resume on file.
Within 12 hours, they will either hear back from the company about an interview request or a rejection. Sims can either interview in person (found by clicking on the sim) or virtual interview (via the computer). Part-time jobs either require Phone Interviews or Virtual interviews. Interview spots last for up to 24 hours. Part-time job applicants will hear within 4 hours if they are offered the job or not. Within 12 hours after the interview, full time applicants should receive a response from the company. Either they will request References or they might move on to other candidates.
Once References are sent, Sims should hear within 12 hours if they receive an offer or if the company has decided on other candidates. Once that application process is complete, the sim can either accept the offer and join the career or decline the offer and look for a different job opportunity.
Sims can reach out to a Career Coach for advice. It will give them a confident moodlet. They can also connect with a Recruiter if they are interested in full-time positions. They advantage of the recruiter is that they can usually get the sim straight to the interview phase without waiting or being outright rejected at the initial resume/cover letter phase. Sims who work with recruiters tend to have slightly better odds when applying to full-time positions.
Sims can also withdraw their applications any time under the Actions menu - this will reset all applications in progress to the beginning but will keep cover letters and resumes if they have been created. Sims can also unlock the standard EA career job options by using the Unlock EA Standard Job Menu option also under Actions.
SimFinancial v2
Updated to fix notification errors and missing text string from Child Support/Alimony module.
Child Support
Sims who have children can apply for child support from their child's other parent at any time so long as the other parent is not part of the child's household. The judge may grant the request and will take into account both parents' incomes. In some cases due to income disparity, the requesting parent may be required to pay the other parent child support. If both parents are unemployed, the minimum wage possible will be used to calculate potential gross income.
The child support payer can request to have child support payments cease if they are unemployed or their income is reduced below the cost of all their child support payments. Child Support payments cease automatically when the Child reaches Young Adulthood, enrolls in University, or moves out of the house on their own. You can request child support for each individual child in your household whom is eligible.
Spousal Support/Alimony
Sims who are recently divorced (must be within the first 48 hours of divorce) can apply for Spousal Support/Alimony. The judge may grant the request and will take into account both previous partner's income and cash assets. In some cases due to income and asset disparity, the requesting Sim may be required to pay the other Sim instead. Spousal support/Alimony automatically end after 6 weeks or the Payee gets remarried.
The alimony payer can request to have payments cease if they are unemployed or their income is reduced below the cost of their alimony payments or the Payee makes more than the Payor.
Works in Progress
Active Therapy
It turns out I still want to create an actual career that works with Active Therapy so that those of you who don't have Small Businesses and Hobbies can still run active therapy practices. So I am actually working on that before I move to the physician's clinic. So sorry for that delay on the doctor stuff, but I really want to make sure that Active Therapy is fully realized the way I want it to be for the most simmers before I move on.
Active Medical Clinics
Once the above is complete, I will be turning my attention back to the doctor's visits and the medical clinic custom venue components. The plan is to have this integrated with my health related mods as well as GTW for a more seamless experience when your sim runs their clinic or visits one.
Post Office
If I get into a creative rut, because guys, it does happen, then I might start fiddling with the Postal Service.
Bug Reports
Please send me any bug reports you have for the mods! Patrons, I have been getting your messages both here on patreon and reading your threads on Discord. If you are not a Patron, use the form on Discord; I do read them!
Remember if you are trying to get mod support on Discord, Patrons, start a thread in Patron-Mod-Support. The instructions on how to do so are inside of the channel itself.
