16:16-18:40 is a great oner of Mon but when the real main character (Luthen) pulls up it cuts

Questioning if Vel and Cinta were a thing after all of season 1 making that ABUNDANTLY clear is interesting.

Everyone talks about the big monolouges of the show, but the start of the second season, Cassians little "you're coming home to yourself" speech is so amazing

Thank you for making these episodes available here, once YouTube decided to be a butt.

The awkward dinner scene is one of my favorite scenes in all of Star Wars. No battles, no lightsabers, just two very entertaining women asserting their influence over Siril.

I'm ASSUMING (risky lol) the next batch of episodes are dropping this week? I know this shows doesn't have a schedule.

I know many people got annoyed with the rebel infighting shown in these episodes (including myself) but after rewatching it clearing is to show how well organized the empire is vs splintered rebel grouos fighting each other. Just like many revolutions and other progressive groups in real life suffer from infighting making harder to fight back against a well organized opposition

Felt very Greek theater-esque to me too

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but season 2 takes place in 3 episode arcs like season 1 except between each arc 1 year time skip occurs. This is leading to the Rogue one movie and the Battle of Yavin BBY

Your comment about Syril's mom was perfectly timed

Brasso was indeed protecting Kellen by accusing him of turning them in in front of the Imperial soldiers. Everybody needs a friend like Brasso. RIP. We won't forget him. Dedra and Syril becoming a couple always creeps me out a bit. Last season he was stalking her, and now she's the one who charges in to put his mother in her place. Mon cracked a little in this episode. She's an idealist. She hasn't had to face the necessity of killing for the Rebellion in the face until this episode. When Luthen told her she needed to be protected from Tay Kolma's extortion, and she responded that she didn't know what he meant, Luthen's reply of "How nice for you." was basically telling her that he meant to kill Tay to protect her. That gut punch, following the gut punches of arranging a marriage for her 14 year old daughter to cover her own financial irregularities, and how her daughter responded to her when Mon tried to offer her a way out of going through with it were too much for her to take. So she got wasted and danced.

The planet (actually a moon) Cassian was on was Yavin, the future site of the Rebel base, and where the Battle of Yavin takes place at the end of A New Hope (you probably already know, but in case you don’t, the calendar year in this arc is BBY 4, which means between 3 and 4 years Before the Battle of Yavin). I was less impressed with Perrin’s wedding speech. Maybe I’m judging him too harshly, but when I compare Perrin’s values to Mon’s, I find his to be shallow and selfish. To me, his speech was hedonistic. Perrin told his daughter to seek out “a moment of pleasing sensation”, and to treasure the “comfort of a fine meal”. What do you think Mon would have said if she had been the one giving that speech? Edit: I forgot to mention that the whole purpose of showing us those idiots in the Maya Pei Brigade (rock, paper scissors?…seriously?) was to demonstrate how disorganized and dysfunctional the Rebellion is at this point, a few years out from the Battle of Yavin. Perhaps it was also meant to show how tight of an organization Luthen runs by comparison, and how carefully he chooses his people. The other group fell to constant bickering and trying to kill each other as soon as they were without their leader.

I’m going to leave comments as I watch. I'll try to keep it to a minimum. The Imperial meeting on Ghorman in Episode 1 was modeled on the Wannsee Conference, the meeting on January 20th, 1942 where the Nazis gathered to plan the Holocaust. The way the representatives from the "Ministry of Enlightenment" talked about the Ghormans was not dissimilar to the way the Nazis talked about the Jews. Vel and Cinta were a couple in Season 1. They were together on Aldhani. When Skeen told Cassian that Cinta was already sharing a blanket, she was sharing that blanket with Vel. For Cinta, their relationship definitely took a back seat to the needs of the Rebellion. Vel was more in love. In Episode 2 of this season, when Kleya said to Vel that they were just two single women surveying the prospects, Vel surveyed Kleya up and down and walked away. Kleya looked surprised, which seems to indicate that she was unaware of Vel’s sexual identity.

I love Genevieve O'Reilly's performance in these episodes. Her face is so expressive, you can see everything going through her character's head at once. The realization that Tay can't be trusted has sadness, disappointment, panic, and calcuation. Her dancing at the end of episode 3 is iconic.

That's death for you. You dont get any last words. It's sudden and unexpected. And you'd better get used to it in this show lol FYi The meeting discussing the destruction of Ghorman is based on a real meeting the Nazis had to discuss the final solution. Tony Gilroy is a big history buff and knows all about rebellions and revolutionaries. The arguing and incompetent rebels was based on the warring factions on the left in the Spanish revolution. The whole show is full of nods to real history and rebellions.

When you started calling Brasso “Uncle Iroh” in season 1 I was dreading for you to get to this episode. RIP.
