Modding Diary - Handing out flyers and cry alone

Hi guys! hope you all are doing well! 😃

This week just flew by for me, but I made some pretty good progress on the runaway child module. and honestly..Im pretty close to getting done since its a smaller mod☺️

This week I worked on the interaction that allows your sim to get missing kids flyers once their kid ran away.

You need to have a photo of the child in your inventory to use on the flyer, it should also probably cost like $30 and not be free lol

anyways, you will get a notification saying flyers have been created and sent to your sims inventory. Initially I wanted there to be a waiting period and have the flyers delivered to the mailbox, but I just know if I did that a bunch of people are gonna say "nothing happened when i clicked get flyers?!"💀and I sorta dont feel like answering that 100 times, so we are getting it immediately

Once you have it in your inventory you will be able to click on another sim and give them a flyer, this interaction can be found under drama generator

And here we have a custom animation of your sim taking a flyer and giving it to the other sim

Most people will have a "sorry havent seen them" response

But once in a while you will also get a mean response

And your sim will also has 30% chance to get one of 5 moodlets

ideally the flyers would run out after you give them out to 20 people, and you should also be able to take one and drag it onto a wall to put it up like a poster, which i still need to work on next week.

I also worked on the Sit and Cry Alone interaction. As the name suggests, your sim can sit down and take a moment to just grieve and wish their child would return, I feel like it really adds to the storytelling of a desperate parent

Sim will sit down right at where they are standing and rest their arms on their knees

and you may hear them sniffle and sigh

And sometimes they will curl up and cry

and sometimes they will wish upon a star that they kid is safe and coming home

This interaction can be used anywhere, so you can use it in their bedroom, on the front porch, in the back yard, in the playground, or wherever makes sense to you.

Annnnd that is all I have this week. I got a few loose ends to tie up next week, then I will work on the interaction that allows your to post about the missing child online as well as the reunion interaction when you see the child again.☺️
