Modding Diary - Bug Fixing + Upcoming Abandoned Baby Update
Hi guys! Hope you are all doing well! ☺️I dont have much to show you this week. I spent the past two weeks fixing bugs in the abandoned baby mod and working on a new feature
The bugs I have fixed so far are:🐞
Made a script optimization
Fixed an issue that caused the fostered baby to stay in the family tree after being taken by CPS
Made an attempt to fix the issue where the phone call from CPS/Police/Parent is not triggering on time. However it's hard to say whether it's actually fixed or not until you guys test it in your game
Fixed an issue where the baby gets put in the inventory when calling CPS
Fixed a typo in a string
Bugs I still need to look into:
Why is Mortimer showing up in a dress as a CPS worker
Why do CPS worker not show up for some players
Is every abandoned baby an occult baby
Additionally, I have heard you guys, and I am working on allowing sims to abandoned their own babies 😶
the way it works is that you will be able to click on the baby bassinet and under drama generator you will have to option to abandoned the baby
This interaction is irreversible
the baby will get teleported into a basket, and you can take the basket to someone else's house and drop them off there.
The bug fix update and the new feature will both come out next week before the mod goes public. If you are experiencing an issue with the mod that is not listed above please join my discord and send me your save, If I can reproduce the issue with your save I will be able to fix it. 🙏

Hi! Is the option to abandon your own baby not yet released for download?
Hey Pandasama, I've been continuing to force the abandoned baby event and so far I'm up to 7 werewolves, 3 fairies, 1 mermaid, and a vampire baby. No humans unless I use cas full edit mode, and change them to human in CAS. just thought I'd let you know.
I love the mod and I love how they can finally meet their parent. I have a tiny suggestion, I think it would be cool if after they meet their parent and grow a relationship with them that the choice to live with the birth parent becomes available

Hi, the issue I had was that the CPS never came to get the baby after they mentioned that they have suddenly found the mother, and the aunt would take over for her sake. Another issue I had was after the first trigger didn't work out how I wanted and it ended with the baby being found by mother immediately; I wanted to do another trigger, and it wouldn't allow it -- after many tries, it finally went through. Just glitchy.
So exciting 😍 the baby's are always girls and occult. It would be great, to have the chance for a boy too. 🙈☺️ Have anyone the same Problem? 🤔😐

This is great! Does this integrate with the scandal system? Will the baby know their birth parent?
I don't know about the scandals since I don't have the Royalty pack but once the adopted abandoned baby grows up I think either to a child or a teen, their parent can tell them about being adopted and they can go on the computer and make a post looking for their birth parents.
also i loveee the little basket, is there anyway we could have the basket in build buy mode that functions like the other baby carrier you made? :)

I just want to say thank you for the Abandoned Baby mod. I’m having so much fun playing with it! You put a lot of work into this and it really shows. I truly appreciate the effort and creativity you put into your mods. I can’t wait to see whatever you come up with next — I’m definitely ready for it!
