Modding Diary - Skin to Skin Contact + Tube Feeding
Hi Guys! I hope you all are doing well!
my surgery went really well last week, 馃槝to be fair it was just small surgery to fix an issue with my eye, I have had it before but last time I was in so much pain that I was bed ridden for days, but this time I barely had any pain at all which was nice.
and between last week and this week I was able to finish the skin to skin contact and tube feeding animation 鈥硷笍
this is what the skin to skin contact animation looks like:
sim will sit next to the baby as usual
and place the baby on their chest
and occasionally stroking the baby
As for the tube feeding, the idea is that your sim can pump milk at the hospital and feed it to their baby using a syringe that is connect to their nasogastric tube
sim will pour the milk into the syringe
and they will hold the syringe to feed their baby
its a little hard to see but there is a tube that goes from the syringe into the baby's nose
and that is all I have for this week! Im really excited for how this is turning out :D
Next week I will make the moodlets and work on the functionality part a little bit, perhaps I should make a special premie formula for sims who aren't producing milk. 馃

So so excited for this. just had a simmie who had to be induced early so that baby would realistically have all this stuff going on, i created a new save before the baby is born just for when you drop this update, and continued playing the family in a new save, haha. can't wait. glad you're feeling better please keep looking after your health :)
SOOOOO excited for this to release. Have you considered adding Braxton Hicks to the mod? I feel like that'd be really interesting! I'm glad your surgery went well!

Glad to know you feel better!! I have a question/three suggestions for this mod (I know it's a lot). I am curious to know if you would ever consider adding a Back Carrier Lock (so then sims stop taking infants out of carriers) to your mod? Also a toddler back carrier. Thirdly if it would be possible to breastfeed two infants/toddlers at the same time, I have more than one set of twins in my game and it takes SO long for the mother to feed both sims and get them back to sleep (even if dad helps with putting them back to sleep). I have no idea how hard this would be to add/animate but I am curious to know! I really love your work and have been supporting you here on Patreon for over a year already which blows my mind because it feels like just yesterday I subscribed!
Hi! I have actually looked into the back carrier lock, but with the way the carrier is made, adding a lock to it will cause your sim to constantly wave their hands in the air because they will want to take the baby out to run an interaction that is um-compatible with the back carrier, there is really no good solution right ow. it would not be able to feed two infants/toddlers at the same time as sims can only carry one person at a time. Thank you for your support!

I'm so glad you're doing well. Also, as a mom that spent 4 months visiting a preemie in NICU this is.. so amazing (child is now a giant 7 year old, all is good). It's *so* good and adorable and perfect.

i mean when it is released it will, but the interactions are for the baby incubator only. Once your baby is home they will be transferred to a regular bassinet

I love this!! Does this mean sims who have premature babies or birth emergencies will have to stay at the hospital for 3 days?
