TuneForge
A free XML tuning injector for The Sims 4.
TuneForge is a dependency mod: it lets other mods add their content to the game without overwriting the original game files. Install it only when a mod specifically says it needs TuneForge.
It's based on the same code as TanksMods Mod Central, the dependency mod that has powered my own mods for years. I took that code and opened it up for other modders to build with, removing the limitation that restricted it to my mods only.
๐ฆ How to install
Download TuneForge_v1.0.0.zip below.
Unzip it, and inside you'll find a TanksMods folder. Put that whole folder into your Mods folder (Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods). Keep it directly in Mods, not buried several folders deep.
In the game menu, click Options > Game Options > Other, then turn on Enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods Allowed, then restart.
Version: 1.0.0 - tested on game patch 1.125.59 (earlier patches should work too)
๐ ๏ธ Making mods?
Not a modder? You can skip this part. Everything above is all you need.
TuneForge can inject around 50 kinds of game tuning, including objects, buffs, traits, careers, venues, situations, and more. It's all additive, so your mod adds its content to the game without overwriting the game's original tuning or stepping on other mods.
Grab TuneForge_Modder_Documentation.zip below. It contains:
Three guides: a Beginner Guide (your first injection, step by step), the full Modder's Documentation (every system), and a Migration Guide (for anyone converting mods from Scumbumbo's original XML Injector).
An Examples folder: a small, ready-made injector for each kind of tuning, to open and copy from.
TuneForge_Detector.package: a ready-made detection resource you can bundle with (or merge into) your own mod, so your mod can check at runtime whether TuneForge is installed (and if it isn't, it notifies the player).
TuneForge_Test_Case.package: a complete working injector that exercises every system TuneForge supports, as a live reference. (It installs real test interactions on everyday objects, so it's for studying, not for a save you care about.)
โ Trouble?
First: TuneForge does nothing on its own. It only makes other mods work. If you installed it and didn't see anything change, that's normal.
If a mod that needs TuneForge isn't working, the most common fixes: make sure Script Mods Allowed is ticked, that you restarted the game after turning it on, and that the TanksMods folder sits directly inside Mods (not buried several folders deep, and not left zipped). Still stuck? Drop a comment below - I'm happy to help. Modders can also open TuneForge.log (in your The Sims 4 folder) to see exactly what loaded and what didn't.
Happy simming! ๐

will it CONFLICT with XmlInjector_Script ?
Nope, it will not
If I use this, do I still need Mod Central?
Yes Vick, you need TanksMods Mod Central. Thats the dependency mod for my mods, while TuneForge is a separate mod and is more of a framework for other modders to build their mods on. So install TuneForge only when a modder asks you to install it , because their mod depends on it. Also, they dont conflict with eachother, so its safe to have both TanksMods Mod Central and TuneForge in your game.
