Pick a future filmmaker deep dive topic
Hi everyone! Alan has ideas for future filmmaker deep dives, but we want you all to decide which one he'll make because the content is for you! Vote below on the idea you'd most like to see as a deep dive. This will probably come out in January.
What are deep dives? Deep dives are short videos on a specific topic, therapy topics (from Jonathan) and filmmaking topics (from Alan).
How do I get access to deep dives? Deep dives are available at the Superhero tier here on Patreon.
We're inviting everyone to take part in the poll so you can get a sense of what deep dives are like and help us shape the content we make for you. Fun!

I love the idea! I am not a film professional, just enjoy them very much, and I love to learn about the different technical aspects that influence the overall product. I would just like to point out that the poll is biased towards sound, with only one option having to do with image :-D
VFX & Light. That's 2 and 2! Sound IS half the movie, after all... 😉 -alan
Oh my gosh, all of the above!
I always use CC, especially on Netflix. Otherwise I'm constantly backtracking, which gets annoying. Drives my partner nuts, but if I don't know what they are saying then I get disinterested.
Can I request a reaction to the NYT mumbling article? Both from a sound engineering perspective (i.e. why is a company like Netflix mixing for a studio when they KNOW it'll be home streaming??) and a practical experience. They cover a couple options, but do y'all have any recommendations? Also, is it simply ageist to look down on closed captioning?? (I've kept it on for everything other than sports because it was the only way I could catch the "local blotter" i.e. local news without my kids" overhearing" it until they could read. 😄😄😄 Now I just get tired of not catching words.)

I would love to see you maybe hang with Corridor Crew for a VFX crossover 👀
I’ve known those guys for like a decade. I should figure out how to make that happen.
It says to click all that apply but it's only letting me do one. O.o
That's weird, it's set to allow multiple options.
We already had a deep dive about Lighting in march with Jono.
That was lighting setup/101. The idea above is a bit different.
