DIRECTOR'S CUT: Therapist Reacts to PRIDE AND PREJUDICE

Is Pride and Prejudice a better love story than Twilight? We definitely think so!

Licensed therapist Jonathan Decker, filmmaker Alan Seawright, and Cinema Therapy writer/producer Megan Seawright take a look at why the classic Jane Austen enemies to lovers story actually works, why people still love it today, and whether or not Darcy and Elizabeth are actually a good match. They're talking about what it takes to actually change, to acknowledge when you're wrong, and to overcome your pride and prejudice to see people for who they truly are. And how Megan and Alan's relationship started out a bit like Darcy and Elizabeth's...

I have a very hard time forgiving Darcy for his speech about trying his hardest not to fall in love with Elizabeth and hating himself for loving her despite his best efforts. I dislike how quickly Elizabeth trusts him. It's annoying to watch everyone swoon over Darcy. That's why I've skipped this video when bingeing the rest.

Donald Sutherland isn’t creepy in The Italian Job either

Love this movie! ❤️ So now, almost 3 years later, has Jono finally seen the masterpiece that is the BBC version? 😉😊 Love the Alan and Megan lore drop too! Thanks for bringing her in on this one! ❤️

I saw a recent interview with Matthew McFadyen, where he tells that was very nervous to play Darcy, because he felt he wasn’t handsome enough o.O But as all the comments for that video said, they might also have been what gave his performance that endearing quality; a feeling that most of it is a facade to protect a very soft center 💚

Gotta say it again: Dream casting - Alan as Mr Bennet. That last cry/laughing scene - perfection. 🩷

One of the things that I'm really loving about watching these is gaining awareness in filming techniques. I never considered how impressive that one shot was of them dancing, and now I'll never be able to watch it without thinking about how much talent that took. Thank you for pointing things like that out!

Beautiful film ❤️ that long shot of him just walking is gorgeous. However, if I were the actor, all I would be thinking is, “don’t fall, don’t fall, don’t fall.” 😬

Flove this movie! For all the reasons everyone lists. I can (and do) watch it over and over and still find something new to see, realize, enjoy. Just perfection.
