My twin sister is this person for me. Calling her my friend or my sister or my twin is not enough she is my person. Someone I can be 100% myself around. We are soulmates.
Thanks guys! What a nice surprise! I’m so glad I joined your Patreon finally. I’ve been watching since 2021, I believe. I was crying with Alan from day one (the first time I realized you guys were (read:are) cool and I’d like to watch more of you. It was CoCo that got me, by the way. D*mn you, Pixar. Also, yay, I finally made a Steve lol. Friendship is cool :)
AH I’m so happy this is the patron episode of the month 🤩
Absolutely agree about what Jonathan said about the fight and I think somewhere subconsciously Dustin needed that fight to happen with Steve specifically. He’d spent all season mourning a friend he loved dearly and saw as a mentor and only getting punished for it by the town. Dustin gets beat up, Eddie’s grave gets vandalized, he’s not allowed to show his grief and I think a rage builds inside of him. He tries to let it out fighting bullies but I can’t imagine he wins any of those and feels any sort of vindication, and I think a part of Dustin knew Steve wouldn’t hurt him back. Steve could be the punching bag, he could be the wall Dustin threw ice against to let that rage out and then be clear headed enough to see past it. Also I think the ‘I miss my best friend too’ is so interesting because it could be about Steve or Eddie — we don’t really know for sure who Dustin considers his best friend. If it’s Steve then he’s saying ‘I missed you too’ but if it’s Eddie he’s still saying ‘I understand the feeling you’re going through of missing my best friend, I know where you’re coming from’ and it works to help them repair either way.
Steve and Dustin are by far my favorite relationship in the show. They are really best friendship goals. I hope there will be more Stranger Things content coming. Maybe a consideration of the outcasts (Robin, Eddie, Murray, even Will) and their integration into the Party/family (for Will as his authentic self).
Thanks for sharing, I love Dustin and Steve's friendship. It's so pure. 🥰
During The Fight: My speculation is that Steve is also really angry with himself over Eddie’s death. Steve is always trying to protect everyone, and he couldn’t protect Eddie. He couldn’t save him. I think he’s angry about that (in addition to all the other feelings you mentioned).
I agree. Steve watched Dustin suffering after Eddie’s death and his guilt just kept growing. And Dustin was too shut down for him to reachable by normal interactions. It needed this kind of blow up to clear the air.
Watching you two demonstrate such great friendship while talking about friendship is a joy! I have a huge grin on my face. Now how about Rocky and Grace?
Project Hail Mary friendship/survival video(s) would be amaze, amaze, amaze!
