Our first programmer Iwassnow has passed away

It's with a tremendously heavy heart that we have to announce our programmer Iwassnow had his life tragically taken yesterday November 14th.

Snow was with us from the beginning in 2021, way before we had any recognition, clout or Patreon revenue. He believed in the project so much that he spent the rest of 2021 writing a whole new VN engine in Unity, and then most of 2022 bringing that engine to Android.

He never did it for the money, though I was fortunate enough to be able to hire him eventually, but for the love of the game. Snow was a US army veteran who was stationed in Afghanistan during the worst parts of that war, and suffered from ptsd and other service related medical problems that followed him for the rest of his life.

Nevertheless, he persevered against those issues and while he had his abrasive moments, he was a tremendously loyal man with a big heart for those he cared about.

I cannot stress enough how much this community meant to him. In many ways, we were far more family to him than his few estranged relatives. As silly as this game is, and how silly this server can be, I'm proud his name still bears the tag for our server.

We all have our rough patches some days, but that doesn't change how real the bonds we formed here are. They matter.

He mattered.

And you matter.

I'm going to set up a VC event tonight so we can remember all the times we've had together with Snow.
