HALLOBEANS POLL!
I cannot believe that we are already here!
Hallobeans officially kicks off on a Friday and I want. to keep up Franchise Fridays BUT in a different way. You're going to be getting polls for every Friday abut the choices will be from different franchises that I've started already - so we do have the potential to make our way through quite a bit of one series if that is how it wins - or we might make progress on multiple franchise if that is how it shakes out.
Mondays and Friday are SCARY MOVIES IN NIGHTVISION.
Wednesdays are light hearted seasonal movies :)
Another giveaway is in the works with the usual rules.. there will be a secret phrase hidden in each video on YouTube - in the video itself, description box, or pinned comment by me. As a patron you will be given an EXTRA PHRASE to comment in that YouTube comment section - for each video! (I'll make a short video explaining all this soon!) The prize this year - I'm still working on but leaning towards a Amazon gift card for top 3 winners along with picking a movie reaction and a little gift box I like to send.
SO LETS GET THIS SPOOPY SEASON STARTED!
This is a collection of franchise I've already started along with a few franchises I'd like to start - they might also make an appearance on Monday polls if we don't start them on Friday)

Would love to see a reaction to “Nightbreed”. My favorite 80’s horror film that definitely doesn’t get enough attention.
"Happy Death Day" for Wednesday, please.
bram stoker's dracula
I'm not a big horror fan, but I loved Poltergeist. I also loved Cloverfield which I think was brilliant for a relatively lower budget all-in concept film with amazing effects.
Ashleigh, just so you know there's 2 Hills Have Eyes movies, the Original and the remake which I prefer.
not sure you're ready for it, but Terrifier exists
For Wednesdays, I can't recommend including "GRABBERS" in a poll highly enough. One of my all time favorite funny monster movies (interestingly an Irish flick).
Possible Wednesday suggestion - Heart and Souls (1993) Non-scary ghost story. Robert Downey Jr, Alfre Woodard, Charles Grodin, Kyra Sedwick
We need The Living Dead movies on here!
Guess who’s back, back again! 🎶 🔥 Gotta show some support on the best time of the year. Definitely Conjuring universe would be fun, but I know everyone wants to see more Freddy and Jason in the chat. So there’s that. Happy Hallobeans everyone! 🎃🐈⬛
We gotta do Ernest Scared Stupid this year for Wednesdays. Especially after doing Killer Klowns From Outer Space.
Hmmm, I don't know why *everyone* but I think this Jeb guy is on the right track. I'm sure we've never met before / anywhere else but I'm just going to blank check agree with anything he recommends. And honestly? I swear I used to watch Ernest Scared Stupid as a kid and never really liked it. As an adult, I love it.
I've always liked Silent Hill (2006). And not scary movies, but in the horror genre are Frailty (2002) and Snow White: A Tale of Terror (best Snow White movie ever made in my opinion). And for some horror-comedy I recommend Serial Mom from 1994 (and as somebody has mentioned in this thread Repossessed). Maybe also Darkness (2002) with Anna Paquin. The first Resident Evil is also a fun watch, not that scary, though, and maybe even Season of the Witch (2011).
Has she reacted to Poltergeist?
Yessir it’s on the channel. First season of Hallobeans in fact.
Shoot! I was going so hard for Texas Chainsaw 2, I didn't see Nightmare on Elm Street 4. Which, I know we all love Halloween III, but... don't forget the Chop Top coat hanger scene. And the jump scare that happens there! The wife on You Me And The Movies jumped SO high when that scene happened... if I remember correctly. Did TBR Schmidt watch that movie, too, and his wife's scream shattered the room? Sorry, I just love Texas Chainsaw 2. When did Ashleigh ever watch The Hills Have Eyes? If she ever does, let's make sure she starts with the 1977 film. It's so much better than the 1985 film or the 2000's sequels / remakes. 1 million times better.
I’m gonna put this out there since you did A View to a Kill…….might want to check out Vamp from 1986. Because both movies had Grace Jones(Mayday) and she was brilliant in that movie. It’s perfect for Hallobeans.
My humble suggestions; The Visit Weapons Obsession The Barbarian Backrooms Smile It Follows
The Hills Have Eyes is underrated horror.
Not a scary movie but a scary tv show franchise that was awesome in the 90’s “Tales from the Crypt”
Does anyone think Ashleigh would enjoy Stephen King's "The Stand" movie/mini-series? There are of course 2 versions, one from 1994 and one from 2020 (I prefer the 94 version myself) It's a long one, 6 hours in total so if she does do it she may want to split it up into multiple videos.
For Wednesdays I'd suggest (purely in chronological order): Topper (1937) Cary Grant, Constance Bennett, and Roland Young. - Ghosts I Married a Witch (1942) Fredrick March, Veronika Lake, Robert Benchley - Witches Blithe Spirit (1945) Rex Harrison, Constance Cummings, Kay Hammond, Margaret Rutherford - Ghosts The Time of Their Lives (1946) Abbott and Costello - Ghosts The Ghost and Mrs. Muir (1947) Gene Tierney, Rex Harrison, George Saunders - Ghosts Bell, Book and Candle (1958). James Stewart, Kim Novak, and Jack Lemmon. - Witches And for a musical: Damn Yankees (1958) Tab Hunter, Gwen Verdon, Ray Walston - Deal with the Devil
Now THESE are suggestions. I haven't even seen Topper or Damn Yankees yet. Oh, and I haven't seen Bell Book and Candle yet but (wait, give me 2 seconds) = I JUST purchased the film because of your recommendation on Amazon right now. Thanks for reminding me.
I hate horror movies, they're soooo predictable.
I know - when is Dracula going to learn we *expect* him to drink blood and bite necks. I mean, what, does he have to do that to *survive* or something? Uck! Zombies eating brains; been there, done that. I mean = so what if it makes the pain of being dead go away. BORing! Screaming? Yesterday's news. I mean, what are you *in danger for your life* or something? Running away from the killer? Did you ever think of asking him or her (or them) to marry you? Eww!
For Wednesday's I suggest Mad Monster Party.
from Disney....... try "Watcher in the Woods"
I've said for years that Friday the 13th 4 - 6 is a great movie.
For the lighter Wednesday reactions I'd like to suggest Hotel Transylvania. So funny! Also, since you watched A Charlie Brown Christmas last year, you should definitely check out It's The Great Pumpkin, Charle Brown.
Halloween 3 is way far away from the others, Its the best one to watch,
I went with Conjuring 3. The first two seemed to scare Ashleigh pretty good. Also Poltergeist 2 for that really nice and sweet preacher.
Pretty much my definitive list till they all get seen or I find something better. 😁 Scary - Invasion of body snatchers (1978) - Jacob’s Ladder (1990) - Candyman (1992) - The Grudge (2004) - The Mist (2007) - Lake Mungo (2008) - The Crazies (2010) - Evil Dead (2013) - Hush (2016) - Invisible Man (2020) - DeadStream (2022) (scary and fun) - The First Omen (2024) Not scary - Trick r’ Treat (2007) - The Blob (1988) - Ravenous (1999) - Stir Of Echoes (1999) - Frailty (2002) - Constantine (2005) - The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005) - I am Legend (alternate ending if possible) (2007) - Pontypool (2008) - Malignant (2021) - NOPE (2022) - Evil Dead Rise (2023) - Weapons (2025) Fun Wednesday movies - Willy’s Wonderland (2021) - DeadStream (2022) (scary and fun) - Abigail (2024)
I hope Candyman wins a scary poll. It scared the shit out of me. Of course I went home and "tried it" but couldn't finish......
Perfect franchise for the "Light Hearted Seasonal HalloBeans: - Scary Movie (Parts 1, 2, and 4) - The Worst Witch (for a Tim Curry Tribute)
I don’t really have a dog in this hunt. I was hoping that Jacobs Ladder (1990) would at least make someone’s Halloween poll. Based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead it’s perfect for the holiday. Alas….
Since I'm not big on the scary stuff, I voted for Poltergeist 2 since that's one that I have seen and yes, it scared the pooopooo out of me. :) Wednesday suggestions: Little Monsters (1989) Warm Bodies (2013) Zombieland (1 & 2) Casper Meets Wendy (1998 Not as great as the first, but still cute) Van Helsing (2004) R.I.P.D (2013) Scooby Doo (1 & 2) Hotel Transylvania (I think there are 3, but the first is the best) The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008) My Stepmother is an Alien (1988)
You should include the original 'Funny Games' to the list! Not scary in the traditional sense but could be fun
So...have we given up on the idea of watching the Universal Horror classics from the 1930s? They're each only about 75 minutes, so you can squeeze in two a session. Frankenstein/Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula/Freaks, The Invisible Man/The Wolf Man - only three sessions, and you'd be set up fine.
Wait, Freaks wasn't a Universal movie though... Right? They've never owned the rights to it.
OMG...Please! REPOSSESSED! Linda Blair, Liam Nesson, what more can I say!
hahahahah YES!!
Also I still firmly believe that Darkness Falls would scare the shit out of you
Out of curiosity do we mean the Wes Craven Hills Have Eyes or the remake? They're both excellent in my opinion, just want to know which one
I was thinking "Nefarious". That'd be a great movie for Halloween.
A lot of people are saying that they don’t like Halloween 3, (that’s fine), Ashleigh might actually like it. Either way she would have bragging rights of saying that she saw it, and saying that eventually she finished the entire franchise!
That is the first one I ever saw. It definitely scared me. I think Ashleigh will like it.
Yay spoopy season once again! ☺️
haha i read that as "snoopy" season and was like, whaaa? (picture the Minions lol)
Halloween 3 is fantastic and very underrated
Some recommendations for HallowBeans: Trick R Treat (2007) Warm Bodies (2013) Wed. Happy Death Day (2017) Wed. Thirteen Ghosts (2001) Idle Hands (1999) Wed. Disturbing Behavior (1998) Wed. Candyman (1992) Jeepers Creepers (2001) Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Remake 2003) Hubie Halloween (2020) Wed. The Blob (1988) Dark Skies (2013) This is a Thriller with a bit of Insidious & Paranormal Activity feel to it
Okay, I'll agree with Happy Death Day that movie *is* fun. Candyman is classic. And... I'd prefer Urban Legend (1998) for the late 90's. Okay, and Jeepers Creepers *is* scary. For people who are scared by horror. Oh... and obviously, The Blob remake is great.
I voted for “Friday the 13th part 4” but honestly, “Halloween” in general should get top billing every Hallowbeans.
Other Scary Halloween Franchises you might like: Anaconda Unfriended Ready or Not Escape Room Paranormal Activity I Know What You Did Last Summer The Purge Smile Buried Alive Insidious The Grudge (2000s movies)
Oh we can add suggestions here? I’ll be right back. :)
Nightmare 4 is my favorite. Some of the others might be better in a technical/artistic sense, but the vibe, cinematic language, and characters of The Dream Master have my heart. To say nothing of the absolutely BANGER soundtrack.
I know she hates chucky, but the comedy coming is gold. All my favorite movies she hates has puppets lol. I guess you need to be in the mood for it. I worry if she ever starts the puppet master movies. Some are good and some are a hot mess and I love it for that.
Friday 4 and Halloween 3🎃. The rest is doodoo.
Cobweb
Nightmare 4!? Freddy the comic and NCP characters? Good action but it's not horror anymore. Just a caricature of itself. I know. I know. I'm going to get roasted. 🤦
Kane!
Friday the 13th Part IV is one of the best ones. Halloween III is also a ridiculous, weird delight and absolutely must not be skipped for any reason.
I'm so sad Friday the 13th part 4 is losing
Halloween every year! It'd be fun to save Friday the 13th movies for actual Friday the 13ths. Some people say to skip 3 cuz its a franchise outsider, but its a fun flick!
The Final Girls with Taissa Farmiga and Clown in a Cornfield are two more recent films you should look at. Also an indie horror film from the 2000s called Dance of the Dead - prom and zombies.
I also think Clown In a Cornfield would be a great recommendation for this channel.
Is The Hills Have Eyes the original 1977 one or the 2006 remake?
If you’re going to watch The Hills Have Eyes, make sure it’s the 1977 Wes Craven original. The remake is godawful. TCM 2 was never rated,so “Editing Ashleigh” will have a huge headache on her hands there. Halloween 3 is ok but has nothing to do with Michael Myers and should have been called “Season of The Witch:A Halloween Story”.
A series idea might be The X-Files, or Dollhouse. A good scary movie series is the Evil Dead series or Trick ‘r Treat.
I have a familial connection to the Poltergeist movies, so that one is very personal to me. Friday Part 4 is actually where those movies really start to get great. Halloween 3 is so weirdly awesome that it needs to be seen, plus you need to really discover the greatness of Tom Atkins. Psycho 2 is very, very underrated. Not nearly as good as the first, but still worthy. Texas Chainsaw 2 is just bizarre and funny and awesome - absolutely nothing like the original, but still as good. Nightmare 4 is a pretty steep drop from part 3, but it still has its strengths. I dislike the Conjuring movies pretty much as a whole. The Hills Have Eyes ... kinda boring. Never liked it.
Hills Have Eyes remake is way better than the original
Elm St 4 ftw. That soundtrack is EPIC. For Wednesday, a film called Little Monsters with Lupita Nyong'o or Happy Death Day and it's sequel.
I don't observe the holiday, but y'all enjoy. ✌🏻
I love this season! Pumpkin spice and poltergeists!
Halloween 3 is a stand alone. 4 and 5 are their own. Then the next ones connects but each in their own timeline. Then remakes which are ok. Then the final sequels are their own timeliness.
It's actually 4-6 that connect. 6 is such a mess it's easy to misunderstand though.
Halloween 3 is a classic it needs to be watched. How will we know how many days till Halloween otherwise?
I've got my mask ready!
🎶 God is in his holy temple… 🎶
I love the idea of the Amazon gift cards as it gives the winner flexibility. I would love to suggest for Wednesdays: Needful Things (1993) Something Wicked This Way Comes (1983) - I love this one, nostalgia stuff.
Something Wicked This Way Comes is a fantastic suggestion. I hope it makes a poll.
Anything but Halloween 3 😭 I hate that movie lol
One more month til Halloween Halloween! One more month til Halloween! Silver Shamrock! 🎃
Yeah, the diminishing returns on most horror franchises makes me not want to vote for any of these.... But some of the Friday the 13th sequels are of the "so bad they're good/funny" variety, so I guess I'd pick that one to continue with
You have to watch Poltergeist 2 because it’s the perfect mix of supernatural and real life terror. Plus you have to watch 3 because it’s the scariest. 🫣
The alcohol bottle scene is still stuck in my brain.....and I saw it ages ago.
I've always felt like a Halloween franchise film should be a given during Hallobeans. I personally love Season of the Witch. I know a lot of folks would want to skip it, for obvious reasons, and go onto Halloween 4, but Halloween III has some of the very best Halloween seasonal atmosphere. On top of that, it's the last film in the franchise that Carpenter and Hill had any real input on,and it contains one of Carpenter's best scores. Also, Tom Atkins is in full-on mack mode here!
Suggestion for a Wednesday- The Scout’s Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse
When is The Strangers gonna make it on a night vision poll???
She wrote that movie down on a live stream.
The Ghost and the Darkness with Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas....scary, but not really a Halloween movie, based on a true story.
Good movie
IT BEGINS!
Let’s just skip Halloween 3 it has nothing to do with the O.G.
Nah it's still a decent concept on its own, but it's better to know what's going on before going in.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year ❤️❤️
