EARLY ACCESS: Perks of being a Wallflower

One of my favorite books and movies. Based in Pittsburgh. That tunnel, the Ft Pitt Tunnel, at night you go in with nothing but a mountain in front of you. You got through the lit tube a while and emerge with the city right in front of you all lit up. It’s lovely. … until you have to rapidly negotiate the lane switches to get to your exit. Anyway, I read the book when I was living in Pittsburgh for a while and took me to the time I first moved there and friends made. Late night drives ending up at some diner or hanging out at Schenley Park or the overlooks. Back when I knew how to live in the moment.
Format of the book is perfect. Back when there were mix tapes and things were tangible. Back when one could feel the impression of writing on paper and tears smearing ink and that connection bridged time and space in ways that today’s world just fails to do anymore.
I cried this hard when I saw it in the theater too, such a powerful film. I think you would love Heated Rivalry too on HBO, it really is an amazing love story for two hockey players that spans many years.
I love you thank you
The “mini” record is called a 45!
I loved loved loved this book. Read the book!
That one hit deep. I have cried to that movie and the book multiple times. Thank you for the message. Stop apologizing and I hope you hydrated and did something nice for yourself. Big hugs.
On another note, how is Beans doing? I hope her condition is clearing up.
