Well **I** am binging!! On to episode 7!!
I know she asked, but I swear, if anyone spoils things for her……. 😡
Depending on the family's income, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs can be as elaborate and cost the same as a small wedding. I grew up in a VERY Jewish town, and went to about a dozen Bar and Bat Mitzvahs in junior high (never had one of my own as my family are pretty low-key Jews), and every one of them involved some kind of banquet hall. Last year, I attended the Bat Mitzvah of a friend's daughter, and I swear to God, I've been to weddings with less pizzazz. They must have dropped a small fortune. And that buffet fucking ruled. As to why the fortunetelling at a Bar Mitzvah, it's not a general practice but specific to TEEN's Bar Mitzvah. These occasions tend to be themed, sometimes subtly, sometimes heavily. I went to a Star Trek themed Bar Mitzvah in 7th grade, complete with little Enterprise-D cut-outs on the tables. I am not joking. Fun note: like Teen, I am a witch from a Jewish background. This is my second favorite episode of Agatha All Along.
