FIRST TIME WATCHING: Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024) E3

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. It's time to dive into more Avatar.
Full disclosure, after this episode, I will be pausing the reactions for this show. I just don't feel like I have a lot of positive things to say and the series so far has left me feeling really "meh". Because of this, I don't feel my reactions to it have been very strong and I'm going to pivot to things I'm more excited for.
With that being said, we have a LOT of content coming this week that I AM excited for!

I really love the added plot on Avatar's EP 6! But this show definitely lacks consistency, glad you made the decision to take a pause on this!

good call nat. nothing will ever come close too the animation, even with me going into this show in a positive mindset
Can't wait for the S3 finale when deep-voiced-6ft tall version of Aang finally fights the fire lord lol
No kidding, if they really wanted to do Avatar justice you'd have to do it LOTR style and garner a multiple season deal off the bat and shoot everything back to back. Gordon Cormier shot S1 when he was 12, he's 14 now upon it's release, if it ever gets to S3 he'll well over 18 and we have no idea what kind of growth spurt he'll hit.
Good choice; this show is rough to say the least. Feel like is this world ever wants to return in live action, they just need to pick a fresh story with new characters. Trying to match the original is foolhardy.
As much as dislike the show I'm loving your reactions... confirms that I'm not going crazy when I see so many people loving it. I just found it incredibly hard to watch. And after the first few scenes I was really excited... but then it went down hill very fast.

I’m shocked Poor Things will be out on Friday, so I’m assuming it’s for the main channel? From what I’ve seen it’ll be hard to monetize for YouTube 😆

Is the new Shogun worth it? I feel like it would be hard to top the original 80’s series

Hi I just stumbled upon a Alan Tudyk show was on SyFy but now on Netflix. He plays an alien whose ship crashes on earth, and he is forced into becoming a small town doctor. And a lot of weird town folks with there own issues. Gives me Ted Lasso vibes. Also Nathen Fillion has a recurring voice role.
That's Resident Alien. Really good show.

I really respect your decision! However I'd love to see you return to this show in the future, as there are moments that are good. And I think it's healthy for this show to get some reaction channels to give negative reviews on it, as it's really getting wayyy too overpraized if you ask me!
As much as I want JUST an episode 4 reaction, this is probably the right call. Happy for the pivot.
Shogun is a STRONG pivot from this mid show.

A little dissapointed but hopefully later on we will get the rest of it, I considered it a really good show and felt like the original cartoon.

I respect the decision. Even though this is a show I wasn’t watching, when you were reacting to Invincible and not 100% digging it, I told myself I’d rather she give up and watch something she enjoys than slog through a show just cuz I liked it. Glad you’re “keeping it real” (and glad you stuck with Invincible 😉)
I wish more reactors made executive decisions like this, at the end of the day you have to be happy with your reactions, nobody wins if you feel like your half assin your reactions/reviews just to please others, we want you to be happy Nat! 😀

Happy Monday Nat. Hope you had an awesome weekend too. Avatar season finale time ha ha After watching the first 2, I think it's fine. It's neither bad nor great. It's just an alternate version of the story, in the same way that The Last of Us show was an alternate version of the game. The originals, having been seen first, will always be the definitive version for most people. Anyway, I'm going to watch this episode with you and then probably watch the rest of the season at some point. So much good stuff this week to look forward to Nat. Thank you. Really looking forward to Shogun 😊
Always fair to not continue a show that isn't to your liking but I dope you'll one day get back to it, mostly just because I hate things being left unfinished 😂 - You've expressed an interest in Shogun and that is really doing great currently so think that should be the new show to watch <3
Be warned the first episode of shogun is almost all in native language and needs subtitles. I don't mind but others might.
