FIRST TIME WATCHING: Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2E10

This is the best 😅 Thank you so much for watching through this series

As always loved watching your reaction to Buffy it's always fun!!!

Nat, the roller coaster ride of love connections this show has is really good. I'd say buckle up, but nothing can prepare you for what's to come.

I can’t remember if it’s fully explained later on, but there’s an implication this episode that the Watcher’s Guild has some way of tracking a lot of “potential” Slayers (those who the mantle will pass to when the current Slayer dies). But they don’t know who will become the next until it happens Kendra was sent off to her Watcher as a child to train her whole life without knowing if she would ever actually become the Slayer…

The cliche romance music everytime Xander and Cordelia kiss always kills me 😭 Kendra being an icon and helping Buffy develop her relationship with being the Slayer and also offering her a hopeful glimpse at a potential life beyond is so 🫶🏼🥹 LOVE my psychotic parents, Spike and Dru 😭 you forget how fun it is to have good reoccurring villains that arent killed off immediately Such a great episode all around! I’m so glad you’re getting to see the writing team cook, it only gets better from here 🫶🏼

It was a quick cut but Oz got shot jumping in front of the Willow to save her.

The super cheesy music when Xander and Cordelia kiss is absolutely perfect.

I’m not saying I’m demanding you continue onto season 3…but I am. A peak episode like this is genuinely the norm next season it’s insanely good.

Some fun trivia. The actress who plays Kendra was Beyoncé Knowles' step sister for like 8 years even though they weren't close. Also, the actress, Bianca Lawson would spend almost the next 15 years playing high school age students and still kept getting offers for those roles into her 30s when she decided that she had played enough teenagers! You can tell that she's struggling a bit with the accent and that it forces her to say her lines a bit slower.

“Queen C” - Cordelia’s license plate, though in all honesty that could be read two very different ways

RIP Dolly "She saved the world alot." If you know you know.

yeah so now Nat knows Angel gets his own show you said a few episodes back you want a show of evil angel well the spin off covers that going into alot of his history when he was evil as well as the years right after he got his soul back and his early attempts at being a hero that didnt always end well. ill just say its my personal favorite show of all time and it really fleshes Angel out. you should think of adding it to polls if youre still interested by the time you reach that point in the story.

Hi Natalie! I'm so happy to see you really enjoying the Season 2 Episodes. This one continued the old story lines blended with new characters and new story arcs. The shows in this season are better produced, more complex, while melding both the drama and the humor, that made Buffy weekly must watch TV back in the day. A previous poster mentioned Dolly Parton as a un-named Producer. Actually Dolly Parton formed her Production Company Sandollar Productions and one of its early properties was the original Buffy 1992 film that Joss Whedon wrote. He went on to develop the TV series through Sandollar and they placed in on the WB network for the first 5 seasons.

The season's cooking and there's still so much more to come. Fun, fun, fun!

Happy "Buffy" Thursday, Natalie! 😊 This is my favorite episode in this two-parter. Xander & Cordelia. More Willow & Oz. And Buffy and Kendra working together to save Angel. Looking forward to the next episode reaction for next week. Have a great day today! Stay Golden! 💛

Found out yesterday that Dolly Parton was an uncredited producer of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She was her usual kind self, giving Christmas presents to cast and crew.

Yay. Another Buffy day with Nat. I think you were fooling us Nat. You planned this two-parter for this week haha Either that or it's the greatest accident in scheduling ever 😀 Damn, that was a blast Nat 😊

Thank you for feeding us mother
