FIRST TIME WATCHING: Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2E6

Glad you enjoyed this. For a lot of old school Buffy fans, this episode marks the beginning of the show's incredible Season 2 to Season 8 run, where most episodes are at the very least pretty solid and quite a few are good to absolute classics. The writing improves, the character depth gets much more complex, the lore becomes epic, and the Sccobies form the nucleus of their ever-changing roster. You're gonna have so much fun in the weeks ahead.

My theory on why Willow didn't lose her memory was because her ghost costume was brand new, whereas everyone else's was used, memories already installed.

HELLO RIPPER!! Finally getting into some Giles backstory oooh my king! A shady secret past, old friends turned enemies, and surprisingly good and hot at fighting? What more can you ask for tbh And Willow learning confidence by being forced to walk around in her sexy outfit all night, an then throwing away the sheet ghost at the end 😭 This is HER episode 🫶🏼 Such a great, fun episode. The blur is usually horrendous but this time it was criminally bad. Please lower the blur in future videos. It has to be clear enough that we can sync based on camera cuts at the very least. Imagine if someone watching your reaction has internet problems or has to unexpectedly pause for some reason and then has to resync mid video. They need to be able to reasonably be sure that you and the viewer are seeing the same thing at the same time. Putting the timer in the middle of the already blurred preview is already awful enough.

This is one of my favorites that got me hooked on the show back when it was airing. Fun episode

GILES LORE! GILES LORE! GILES LORE! Love that they started to explore his character more. One of my favorite parts of Buffy is how the vampires and demons think Halloween is tacky, so they just stay home that day.

yeaaa natalie gets her first glance at "Ripper" Giles. this episode is a Classic. lots of great comedy and it sets up the seeds for Giles deepening backstory as well and progressing Buffy and Angels relationship. next episode is another classic that introduces one of my favorite minor characters.

You made it! Halloween is the first "great" episode of the series IMO, and it starts a stretch of great episodes to follow.

My version doesnt have the "previously on" piece. Can you unblur it on the intro song so I can sync it at that point? Or better yet can you leave a corner of the video permanently unblurred so I can sync an resync as needed during playback?

Man it was hard to sync it before with the screen super blurred but now that the screen is just a solid color there is no hope. :(

I do not understand why the principle would ask the juvenal delinquent to chaperone children. It would be most helpful if we could see some of the show to sync to not just a white blur.

Willow remembers because she's the ghost of Willow, so she's still Willow. Buffy and Xander are dressed as different people with different lives and personal backgrounds. If Willow had been dressed as Jacob Marley's ghost or something, she wouldn't remember.

A fan favourite, there's ton of fanfic written about them dressing up as different characters.

Please return to the old blur filter for the next one. In my country the episodes streamed from D+ have longer fade to blacks between act breaks and I'm always having to resync. I need to be able to at least make out where cuts are

Been waiting for this episode to come up! It's so much fun! And always fun to see the Ripper side of Giles coming out (there's a fun one in season 3 as well). I think you nailed it when you said that Sarah Michelle Gellar must have had fun with this one; it certainly feels thqt way. And she had great lines! I love the confident and happy walk Willow has at the end; Alyson Hannigan is so great in that role. Oh, and I said it before, but I'll say it again: I love how they took their time introducing Oz.

Such a fun reaction! The white blur made it challenging to stay in sync (my copy falls out of sync during the commercials) but it was worth it.

Rewatching buffy with you is really making me miss the whole 22 episode a season format. We just dont get episodes like this any more that gives us time to let our characters get fleshed out and breathe. Eveything is just so fast paced these days things rarely feel as earned

Since not all copies of the episodes include the previously on segment, it would be helpful if you could indicate when the previously on segment ends just as you indicate when the intro starts.

I have always really liked this episode. There are two more Halloween episodes I think are really good too (iykyk).
