OOOOOF now I see why people recommended 3 eps, I was WAITING for a certain thing to happen 😭 It is really insane that, and you kind of touched on this, from the Marleyan’s perspective this is literally the day the Colossal Titan appeared and broke the wall… chaos, innocents dead, including children, terror in the streets, lives changed forever … seeing the way the kids are looking at some of OUR favs is like, yikes! But also, fuck them kids! Fully fine with the 2 eps at a time, do t want to throw the schedule into whack and sacrifice other shows

I figured Nat would enjoy this, but I'm kinda surprised how MUCH she's enjoying it. She's just like the rest of us were watching this for the first time - giddy, anxious, and hyped lmao. You can really tell bc she's picking up pretty much everything, nuance and all. I don't think I've seen her react to anything quite like she's been reacting to AOT and it's become my favorite reaction so far... LOVE IT!!! Edit: Also I hope this motivates her to check out other anime series, bc this is far from the only banger out there!! Give us another anime series poll after this one Nat! 😂

You don't have to do 3 episodes this week I would say. What matters the most, and as others have said are episode 78, 79 & 80. You should aim to do these together if you can. And thank you for another great reaction!

btw Nat you should rewatch this episode in dub. There's a lot of tone I think that is just missed in the sub. Tybur talking about his plan was almost resentful at the sympathy that the military officer was feeling about the eldian sacrifice, so he was like "what's the problem, they're just worthless eldians right?" like sarcastically/insultingly, like "nobody gave a shit about eldians before, why are you going to start now?"

FOR SURE! You must watch episodes 78,79,80 all together when that time comes

What's so great about the end of this episode is that Porco is so surprised by how unphased the scouts are dealing with titan-wielders. He wasn't there on the island with the others so he's only heard stories about their encounters. Also Reiner was the only one of the original 4 to return back to Marlay, & from the flashbacks we know that he doesn't respect Reiner and his abilities, so it's likely that he underestimated them due to that fact.

I think Tybur was making the point “you’ve sacrificed countless Eldians before, why not now?” I do think j Tybur is burdened by their sacrifice, and I think he thinks the only way to redeem Eldians in the eyes of the world is for them to unite with the world to destroy the “Island Eldians”. When he said “they’re just devils” he was returning Magath’s rhetoric to him.

How goes it, Nat? I'm really glad I finally caught up with everyone here on your Patreon. I first followed on your YT and really liked the perspective you have on the movies and shows you're watching along with your reactions. I heard you only did AOT on here so I had to come and see it. AOT is definitely one of my favorites, and the one show that got me back into anime. I was part of the many ppl that had to wait years to get through this show, so we'll be alright waiting for the next episode uploads. It's no biggie. You will have more questions but you will get answers. This is only the beginning of the season, so take your time with it and enjoy the ride. It's been fun watching along, and I'm happy you're enjoying it as well.

I agree with Brian's comment that the only set of 3 episodes you absolutely must watch together are 78, 79, and 80. Be sure you can watch all three of those in the same week when you get to that point!

I think two episodes at a time works pretty well for most of this season. Until you get to episodes 19, 20 & 21 of this season (78, 79 & 80 overall). If any episodes should be a triple drop, those are it.

I love how every scout now uses thunder spears, except Sasha who gets a gun, and Levi who still uses the classic blades.

i mean, its fine to go 2 episodes still, as far as i can remember there are some arcs coming up that are like 4-5 episodes, and even with this arc going on you could make the argument that you should watch 4 episodes at once. basically, the cut off is just going to be all over the place. id love more episodes a week but id rather have consistency than finishing arcs all the time.

Please do watch one more episode this week. Things are going to go back to slow burn after the next episode.
