FIRST TIME WATCHING: Invincible S4E8

you should watch Wonder Man. A hidden gem I think you would appreciate. - a critically acclaimed 2026 Marvel series described as a "love letter" to acting, Hollywood, and filmmaking.

Why do she have to watch it in a watch along way?

It's not 100% necessary, but, if you watch The Boys season 5, consider watching Gen V season 2 before. Personally, it was better than season 1 and better than season 4 of The Boys, so you might end up enjoying it!

I still think Eve is the one who will finish it all off by killing the rest of the viltrimites by turning their atoms into goo. She is the most power one by far

I really liked this ending. It wasn’t explosive, but it still felt like there was so much weight to it. Loved how they handled Eve’s decision and the complicated feelings associated with it. When this show tries hard enough, it’s just so emotional and hard-hitting. Can’t wait for next year! We're just past the halfway point in the comics so I'm very curious where they start off in season 5! And if we’re talking about another series, I’d be remiss if I didn’t recommend The Sopranos. It’s just so iconic and the acting is first rate from the entire cast. I’d suggest that or, perhaps even better, I’d also recommend another HBO show: The Wire. It’s got a lot of acclaim attached to it, and for good reason. If you’re looking for a show that is well-written, well-acted and almost as influential as Sopranos, it should be at the top of your list.

Also Kregg acclimated awful quick to his new situation 😂 man saw that his job was to wear a sick eyepatch and date redhead biker girls and said say LESS! 🫡

Crazyyyy episode! The first fakeout with Debbie did have me for a second, but I got a little tired of it after a while - though I understand it was to show Mark’s mental state and paranoia, which was nice to talk about I did like how smart the writing was the episode. At the same points in the episode as you I found myself saying “PLEASE don’t be stupid and breakup” and then Eve talked him out of it, and then again going “Nolan DON’T TOUCH HERRR” and then he thought better of it 😂 very human impulses and fears being demonstrated, I enjoyed it The final speech at the end was so demoralising 🫩 although considering the turnaround on new viltrumites is 16-18 years I’d say we’re still alright. Also I can’t imagine Thragg is gonna slap on some jeans, I half-seriously expect him to just sit alone on the moon until something comes up 😭

No Boys or Daredevil: BA S2? 😭 what’s a man to do… if that is case then I’m definitely submitting AMC’s Interview with the Vampire show as a recommendation 🫶🏼 maybe the best show on tv right now

BTW Nat - or if not Nat person who tells Nat things - Lee Pace voices Thragg. He also does a FANTASTIC job as Empire (Emperor of the Galaxy) in Foundation. Which also stars Jared Harris, who I know you also like. (Chernobyl)

For suggestions for next watches, I have a few short shows to suggest: Blue Eye Samurai, Station Eleven, and Undone. Blue Eye Samurai and Undone are both beautifully animated, and Station Eleven is live action. All are really interesting and deeply emotionally resonant. Blue Eye Samurai has 8 episodes in its only season (with another season on the way later this year), Station Eleven has 10 episodes in its only season, and Undone has 8 episodes in each of its two seasons.

I thought this ending episode was so good! Mark clearly has PTSD. He is terrified of Thragg now, and rightfully so. Thragg pretty much single-handedly killed him, his dad and Oliver with zero problem. And he knows he gave Thragg every reason to get revenge, one way or another. And the INCREDIBLE guilt over Eve now. I like how this show isn't like, "Ok. War's over. Go home. It's all good. Live your lives.". No. It's not over, and there was NOT a happy ending, and there are still unrealized consequences. I liked this season a lot. Let see how much more messy it will get! (I actually know how much more messy it will get, having read the entire series. I just needed an ending line to this paragraph)

Natalie, you should 100% watch the movie Lights Out. Scary movie (your favorite). Perfect Natmare movie. Also, Loki Season 2! In my opinion, it's better than season 1, and it is potentially the wrapping up of Loki's entire character arc.

Happy Sunday Nat. Enjoyed the streams a lot last night. Looking forward to more epic Titans this week and see what happens next. And also looking forward to finally seeing Fight Club and watching it with you 😊
