So, the big controversy is what the ending means. Some have suggested that she's leaving because she feels too guilty to enjoy her life with her lover. My sister interpreted it as her committing suicide and that's why my sister hates the ending. I’m not sure myself.
Chow Yun-fat also probably best known to American audiences as Sao Feng from the third Pirates of the Caribbean
Last time I watched this was when I was like a kid and remembering how cool the fights were. Now many years later I learned there was also a plot to this movie.
Chow Yun-fat as "Tequila" in Hard Boiled (1992) 😎 🙂 🤕 😵💫
Great film! Cannot believe GLADIATOR won Best Picture over this film that year! IMO, this should’ve been the first non-English language winner. Speaking of which, any plans to watch the newly crowned winner ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER soon (a deserving winner IMO)? Its director (Paul Thomas Anderson) had an insane Oscars losing streak prior to his win (11 nominations and 0 wins before winning this year). Great body of work worth reacting to IMO.
I have an idea for the schedule how about Invincible Monday, Attack on Tuesday (Titans), movie poll Wednesday, Thursday (break or bonus movie/show), Movie Friday
I never thought I'd see you react to this movie. I'm glad it happened. This movie is a true gem.
Such a compelling love story...love stories. Great reaction, Nat, thanx.
hair is looking gorg today nat
Love this movie. Best foreign film/dubbed movie I think I've ever watched. Love the soundtrack. Especially the "Night Fight" scene! Edit: Just got to the end... and it got a Perfect Golden Score! Haven't had one of those in a long time! And well deserved. Such a beautiful, yet tragic, movie.
Dang, yeah... Looking forward to this one! I LOVED this movie when I first saw it back in theatres when it first released. My girlfriend would make fun because my mother looked like how Michelle Yeoh back then, lol I haven't seen it in some years, though. Aw NUTS! Doesn't seem like I have this on blu-ray (wait, that CAN'T be true!) Whelp, gonna be searching for that all morning, since the 4k blu-ray won't get here for like a week from Amazon for some reason.
Ang Lee’s best film in my opinion (Brokeback is great too). I remember the soundtrack would be my study music for years during college.
Really looking forward to watching this with you, Nat! I only wish I were as flexible as the actors and stunt team in this movie lol..
Happy Thursday Feature Nat. Sounds like you had a great time with this movie. Not seen it since it was first released, so looking forward to watching along with you later 🐯🐲😊
