One of my favourite movies, almost every line is a gem, and it's the best damn wedding in all of cinemadom.

I liked 4 and 5, and 5 had ties to how Will and Elizabeth can be together again. I just enjoyed the movie for what it was and not what the trilogy had been. But since JD was pretty much fired by Disney after 5, I wouldn't watch a new pirate film if he wasn't in it.

This one is my favorite!! I’m on a Europe roadtrip (heading home) and I can’t wait to get home to watch this! Yay!

if i have to say u don't have to watch 4 and 5 but 5th one is good one. I don't remember about 4th one. IF u really wanna see Jacks Sparrow adventure U can watch Whole Series as Johnny Depp will probably not return too Play these Role. So U CAN if u Want to watch other movie than u can close the Jack Sparrow Chapter For Real.......

I hope you watch 'Fallout' sometime!

Nat, you're not the only one sad over the "ten years for one day" notion they put into the film. I absolutely hated it. I know they were going for a very romantic fairy tale kind of thing with it but I just found it totally depressing and not romantic at all. Ruined the end of the entire multi-film Elizabeth/Will arc.

I’m glad you enjoyed this one. I remember the maelstrom fight being a particularly awesome big screen moment. I think it’s probably right to skip the next ones as they are basically unrelated storywise they just have some of the same characters. I would strongly recommend Master and Commander: Far Side of the World as the greatest sailing ship movie ever made. One ex-theatre kid to another, I’d also recommend the Donmar Warehouse cast recording of The Threepenny Opera where a young Tom Hollander (Cutler Becket) plays Macheath. It’s a very good time.

Just because others choose to break the law doesn't mean she should.

Are you planing in watching the monster verse? You know the Godzilla movies. Of course that’s if you haven’t seen them already

Davy Jones coming ashore once every 10 years would have been fine because he would live forever so as Kalipso, however any other person being in his place would love someone else, so once every 10 years is horrible, they would see each other maybe 4 or 5 times and then the other person would die of old age.

Since the Bass Singers of TikTok cover of Hoist the Colors was mentioned by Nat, I have to suggest people check out Voiceplay's cover of the original. In this guy's opinion, it blows all other versions out of the water(heh heh - see what I did there - lol). If Patreon ends up killing the link, just do a YouTube search for 'hoist the colors voiceplay'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vO8NEsx9m58

And if you fancy another movie that pushes the boundaries of its surprising PG13 rating, then you definitely need to watch The Ring!! Which I’m just now realising is also directed by Gore Verbinski. The man knows how to make a movie 🙏🏻

So many great moments in this movie honestly the whole “Elizabeth… we’re not back.” scene The fight on the mast? -THE MAELSTROM??? Like, I’ll say it, the first 3 pirates movies are basically Disney’s lord of the rings, and the biggest complaint you could have about this movie, like ROTK, is that it’s LONG 😅 but the first 3 are just such a spectacle and also really fun, everyone is perfect for their roles (Geoffrey Rush especially) and it takes itself just serious enough that it pays off 🫡 Nothing could make me hate you “at worlds end” 🫶🏼

This one is by far my favorite of the Pirate movies! It's got everything you could want, comedy, drama, action and intrigue! Also, in case you missed it, Beckett mentioned to Jones earlier that he had told him to "kill his pet", meaning he forced Jones to dispose of the Kraken. Also! Captain Teague is actually Jack's dad, which makes it even better and funnier imo with the "How's Mum" bit. Also, I just absolutely love the poetry of Will being stabbed with the very sword that he made in the first movie.

Beckett mentions forcing Jones to "kill his pet", also the transition to Jack in the locker plays audio from the ride. and yes, we knew you would get emotional; Hence the votes =] Thank you for your work.

I feel like a very big reason for the movies being able to make you emotional is the amazing music (for me at least)

These first three Pirates movies definitely have their ups and downs but they’re still fun movies overall. If you want to watch a really great show about pirates you should check out Black Sails

Regarding the Pirates ride...the one they built in Shanghai Disneyland is entirely based on the movies and looks incredible. I recommend watching a ride-thru...hoping to see it in person someday.

SquaredSpekz · April 26, 2024

That was Jack's Dad, not Brother. Played by Keith Richards, the inspiration for Captain Jack Sparrow.

R

Just because other people didnt like the next pirate films doesnt mean you wont Nat. You should give them a try!

I love how thoughtfuly done the character work johnny did on jack was. The fact that he spends his whole life at sea, he doesn't have to get his sea legs like everyone else, he has to get land legs. On a ship even during a storm he's rock steady. On land he's a wobbly goof

M
Mastervodo · April 26, 2024

Captain Teague is Keith Richards, who is 723 years old in real life, and is Jack's Dad, not his brother.

Happy Feature Friday Nat. Still having a laugh about your livestream yesterday. It was a lot of fun 😊 I remember a review about this movie at the time of release, and it said "How did a Disneyland ride become so complicated??" 😆 Going to watch this over 2 nights with you, when I've got more time. It's an epic one, although I do remember that Hans Zimmer created a new theme, and there's some awesome action scoring in the finale 😊 Thanks for all your great work this week Nat. Have a brilliant weekend 💛 Edit: Damn, Nat! I had a blast watching this movie with you 😊
