Re-Rendering Old Paula
Very much behind schedule, we are still rendering all the images from the earliest stage of "Saving Paula" that were done on DAZ using 3Delight software rendering.
Besides the fact that it took hours to render a single image, the DAZ implementation of 3Delight - and our knowledge of using it - were, let's say, not the best...
So the render quality at the beginning of the game is considerably "not as good" as the rest.
Also, although "Saving Paula" is a work in progress, many players complained, and rightly so, about having to get to know Paula too many times during the game: she changed more than just her hairstyle.
So we are working on both ends of the game: both on the new version, continuing the story, and on the beginning, rendering everything in much better quality and coherence with the rest of the game.
More detailed news next weekend.
Cheers,
Mark,

Thank you so much for the information; it's truly an excellent story. I hope future updates will be more dynamic. Congratulations on your work! Do you have an estimated date for the next update?
Thanks for the detailed update! Honestly, it’s great to know that you’re working on both the new content and improving the earlier parts of the game. The consistency in Paula’s appearance and the improved render quality will definitely make the experience much better. Take your time with it—looking forward to the more detailed news next weekend and, of course, the next update!
Thank you for understanding. We are always working on "Saving Paula"—it"'s fun! :) As for the consistency: Paula (and the game) went through four major changes in looks and system hardware, and it shows. We are not going to get all of those sorted out, since it will take a year just to do that... Instead, we settled on improving and updating just the first stage, for now, since those images are very far from the current render quality and look, and creates too much of a jump in Paula's appearance. Later, if this works out, we will maybe address other renders, as well. One important note: the old saves and everything else should work as usual; we will keep the image names, numbering, and conditioning as they are.
