🌟 Romance Knowledge Test Fix has been released:

Fixes an error that can occur when clicking on loveseats, benches, picnic blankets, or stereos (possibly others too) when the active Sim knows another Sim on the lot is not attracted to them. While this most commonly happens with the "Watch Sky Together" interaction from the Lovestruck expansion pack, it can occur in other circumstances.

Note: This overrides the resource testSet_SexualOrientation_KnowledgeGate_Romantic_PickedSim. While I would normally create a script to avoid this, directly editing tests is fiddly, and this issue is slated to be officially fixed soon anyway.

Technical details:

All kinds of components in the game's tuning use "participants" to determine which Sim is doing what and how they should affected by something in the code. For instance, the active Sim is "Actor" and the Sim you clicked on is "TargetSim". For cases like the bench, since you are clicking an object in order to start a social with a Sim somewhere else, you either have to tell the game which Sim you want to involve using a picker menu or, if there is only one valid Sim anyway, the game can silently run a picker in the background that automatically selects that one Sim. In those cases, the participant should be "PickedSim" instead of "TargetSim" since their data is being passed along differently. Unfortunately, when Imaginary Friends were added to the game, an extra test was added for romance (to see if the Sim was a former Imaginary Friend) which was using the wrong participant. Based on how the logic of the test works, if the active Sim doesn't know the other Sim's orientation or if the two are compatible, then the test completes early and never proceeds to the code where Imaginary Friends get checked. However, if the active does know the other Sim's orientation, and they know the other Sim is not attracted, the game has to go deeper into the test. The Imaginary Friend check did not have the correct participant tuned and the missing data caused it to run into problems. This short-circuited the function that generates interactions on an object when clicked, and you end up with most of the bench's interactions missing and a nasty error message.

🌟 Watch Sky Romance Fix has been released:

The Watch Sky interactions are missing several considerations that other romantic interactions normally have. For example, it is impossible to be rejected (even if the Sims do not have compatible sexual orientations), it does not generate jealousy or guilt, and Agnes Crumplebottom will not hit Sims with her purse over it. This mod adds those standard components to the Watch Sky interactions, both for outdoor benches and picnic blankets.

🌟 Less Mirror Mania has been released:

Heavily curbs the tendency of Sims to talk to themselves or practice skills in a mirror on community lots. Sims may still briefly Freshen Up or Admire Self, but they won't otherwise use the mirror outside of their home unless they have the Eccentric trait, Self-Absorbed trait, or Vain Street quirk, or if a mirror behavior is encouraged by club, small business, or getaway rules. Active Sims are unaffected.

🌟 Lounge Sanity has been released:

Heavily curbs the tendency of Sims to use musical instruments or a microphone stand while at a Lounge venue. Only Sims who are hired as Entertainers will use those objects while visiting a Lounge, unless they have the Eccentric or Self-Absorbed traits, or if using those objects is encouraged by club, small business, or getaway rules. Active Sims are unaffected.
