Development Pipeline: Biolumer Dragon Take Off Animation
Unlike other dragons, the Biolumer will have two different ways to take off. The first will be the typical take off from a running start.
The second is what you see above. The Biolumer will be able to jump straight into the air and take off from a stand still.

I like this but the wings really do look stiff, i suppose it doesnt help that they arent insect wings, these wings definitely could do with a bit more fluidity 😊
id love to see the bio fly hover move around a bit to display how light they are and the slightest breeze makes em sway around a bit. looks lovely
Are these Bio animations still wips? They look very stiff compared to IR animations. The difference is distracting.
Wings I think are too stiff. if you look at a Hummingbird in slow motion, their wings move in almost a figure 8 motion when they hover. Maybe adding something similar to the motion of the Bio's wings would add to the quality and realism to the animation.
The stiff vertical flapping throws it off for me, It could be alleviated by actually mimicking a hummingbird at take-off, aka, the wings flap horizontally and angle forwards and backwards much like treading water.
It looks better now that it's flapping more, but that being said the wings are stiff and look like someone tied cardboard to their arms and started flapping. Hummingbird's wings still bend and fold as any other wings do (beit not as dramatic), and these should also represent that.
Dem hollow bones
I feel like the body needs a little more movement after getting into the air it seems like it just locked into position it would be nice to see a more natural sort of adjustment into position like a little bob down as the wings start up and then back up a little into place afterwards
It looks great! I will say like a motion blur effect would make the wings look more realistic considering how fast they’re going.
