Development Pipeline: Blitz Striker Idle Pose Ideas
We are working on creating the perfect Idle pose for the Blitz Striker.
We have no yet decided if he should idle on his belly or perch himself up with his wings. Which one is your favorite?

I think leaning on its wings would look fantastic!
I think it should coil up a little more like a snake while at rest or bunch up as if to strike if threatened? Over all I like it! Can't wait to play as one!
When Sprinting- Engages wing muscles to throw its forward easier than it would slithering. Walking - Slither. Sniff animation, prop itself up on its wings, would be very cool. :}
i think he should idle on his belly, as holding himself with his wings could cost a lot of energy, while the holding himself up looks totally awesome for an idea like when it uses its emp or lighting while grounded!
I like the second picture best
I think it should hold it self up with or without wings and lower to stalk and prepare a lunge like other snakes do
2 and 5 looks pretty good. 2 is someting like snake preparing for his attack and the 5 is more like he want to see whats around, scanning the terrains and trying to be bigger than opponent. for me both are fabulous. Also the perching give him ability to throw self forward to quick strike.
I feel like perched up makes the most sense however, I would recommend making the tail longer so it can use its muscular body to hold itself up over its wings that way it isn’t as much of a wyvern style. So like a snake holds it’s head up.
That's a good idea, maybe have it curl up on its tail? To give it a thick base.
Love them all, kinda like how he props himself up with his wings. But the evil dark snake vibe thing is working. Looks vary sneaky like a night crawler. 🌙 would be sick if he could hide himself. Around things like trees then slither down them too. Looks so silent, but that lightning shot or whatever will be sick in those thunderstorms storms. Can't wait.
Perched up
i love the one perched on the wings
I feel like the flat version should be a "crouch" and the propped version the idle. Or, as someone else mentioned, some kind of coiled stance be the idle. Since the Blitz is very slow on the ground, it needs as much range of view as it can get to increase the chance of escaping potential predators, which height will offer. I understand concerns about it being too much like the IR when propped on its wings, but I don't see that as much of an issue—there are plenty of animals in this world that have similar biology. And especially if this propped pose is JUST an idle and not for movement, the uniqueness remains for both.
Looks so much better perched up on the wings, looks menacing. Also makes sense from a biology stand-point, considering the wings are his primary tool and will be quite durable, and able to prop himself up.
i second this
Personal concept: it should be distinguished from the Wyvern, because the Wyvern also raises its chest with both hands, so it should lie on the ground like the second picture.
It is still a personal concept: it seems that it is not good at running. On the ground, it may not need to rely on vision to observe the surroundings, because it is too late when it can see. So there is no need for it to raise its head to make itself more conspicuous and easy to expose.
Being perched on wings makes the most amount of sense in an idle position. The belly position looks too much like it's sleeping and it wouldn't be prepared for an attack unless it could readily have it's head high enough for a vantage point at all times.
Perched up is fun, maybe have them slowly looking around when idle. Scoping the surrondings.
I think 2 and 3(both the ones with the belly on the ground) seem most natural for conserving energy
My suggestion for the idle posture would be neither on the belly nor the wings. You've made a more snake-like dragon here; why not have it rest on its coiled tail, with the wings more folded and the torso upright? You could have it tilt the wings down to rest on the claws as well, but I think sitting on the coiled tail would look best. It looks in general like it would tend to coil itself more, whether idle, resting, crouching, etc. Upright in general is usually better, since an animal would be able to see its surroundings better from a higher vantage point. The exception is if it's a common prey species, in which case it might want to take a lower profile.
Perched up for the idle forsure. The crouch can be the close to ground one.
Perched up looks better for idling. His arms raised looks like he's about to strike and fully prone looks like he's sleeping.
Perched up
I like the ones where he's only slightly raised. Full perched looks a little uncomfortable, and full prone just looks like he's asleep.
Crouched though a low crouch seems to look better.
Perched up, Maybe the crouch can be down?
Definitely perched up.
perched up yeah, then you still have the option to lay down much like the other dragons
perched up for the idle, the flat on the ground looks like hes sleeping
i like the one where his wings are on the ground and his belly is too
