as a fellow "confused by crocheting but loving the aesthetics" person, this video is very relatable and immensely encouraging
When I saw you upload this on YouTube (prior to my ability to throw money here) I SPRINTED to my computer to watch. I am in love with crochet. I am actually sitting on the sofa watching your newest video while crocheting haha
Loooooved it. I've been addicted to making the waterbottle holders since I saw your earlier post! I made one for each of my students studying abroad and some for my friends who I was visiting. I think I made around 15! lol. I used a thin macrome cord/thread for the base to make it stronger, and then different colored yarn for the body and strap. :D Thanks for the inspiration!
Love the cardigan the most! I've been knitting for years and recently ordered some hooks to try crochet. I want to eventually make the Haunted Video Store Blanket by Alt Knots. Going to start off with The Beetle Mood Snood as my first project but am going to use just one color of Herrschners Halloween Sparkle Yarn.
I keep trying to crochet and the only thing I can make so far is pumpkins! I love the cardigan. One day I will have the time to learn!! Is skill share genuinely good for learning different things, or is it better to stick to YouTube?
I think Skillshare is really good if you like a slower pace with more detailed lessons. I think their classes (especially beginner stuff) rightfully start you out from the absolute bare bones and walk you through in baby steps, which is a process you don't always get in a Youtube video since the fast paced nature of the platform forces creators to be a little more concise. It really depends on what learning style you prefer. I found Tony Lipsey's class to be helpful, but she also has a YouTube channel full of free resources! Highly recommend checking that out if you're still struggling. I think she explains things very well!
What a delightful video! And now Iโm inspired to maybe? Pick up crocheting myself???
I love how everything turned out especially the cardigan! I think I'll have to start one for myself soon. oddly enough I can crochet well and follow patterns just fine but have yet to attempt a granny square, I got super into amigurumi right when I started to learn to crochet so that's mostly what I make.
