HALLOWEEN BUILD ANNOUNCMENT π
Hello friends! π I'm writing this with much trepidation because my plans for this year's big Halloween build are truly insane π The crafter's audacity is strong with this one.
Mothman has always been one of my favorite cryptids. Moths? Weird little spooky guys? It's very predicable of me. However, my affection for this ominous gentlemen has only grown in the past year, as I was able to finally visit point pleasant last December on the way home from visiting family in PA. I saw the giant weird metal statue in person. I felt his firm, well developed buttocks. I slipped a crisp $5 bill in-between them: That was when I knew I had to make a Mothman-inspried thing.
This year I've also been getting more into creature builds and body-mods in order to change the shape of my mortal form to suit my costumes better. I had a TON of fun making my Clicker Couture look, and it made me realize I really like making gross stuff, and I have the most fun wearing costumes that make me completely disappear into the character. Freaking out your boyfriend while filming a Clicker reveal in your backyard at 11pm > wearing pretty costume.
For this "Mothman Reaper" (as I'm dubbing him), I want to look completely inhuman. I want to completely change my proportions and body shape, and to do this, I'm gonna have to come up with some pretty difficult mechanisms.
Mainly, I want to make a set of digitigrade stilts from scratch. You can purchase some pretty awesome pairs of these online, but that comes with a $1500 USD price tag including shipping. Based on my research, I should be able to make my own for MUCH cheaper, but I've also never really done any machining or built a mechanism like this before. The idea of getting into stuff like this is kinda terrifying, but it's also the kind of cosplay I really want to move towards in the future, so I'm gonna give it a shot.
Additionally, I want to build a hunchback bodysuit to really change the angle of my spine and shoulder proportions, I want to build some hand extensions so my arms can match the lankiness of my legs, I want to build a glowing eye mask with a blink and jaw-opening mechanism, I want to build glowing wings that have a bit of articulation; it's a long list of plans for this one π ....And I haven't even mentioned the set of Nazgul-inspired armor and giant reaper staff I want to build too (that'll be the easy part though, weirdly enough.)
I have no idea if I can pull all this off before the end of October, but I'm gonna give it a shot, and if it isn't perfect I'll just keep improving it after the Halloween season is done!
I hope y'all are as excited for this build as I am! I'll be posting a lot of WIPs and updates here on Patreon, and hopefully some little exclusive videos as I get all the mechanisms working too. Finally, thank you all SO MUCH for your support here. Y'all are such a wonderful and encouraging community and I genuinely couldn't do what I do without you guys. A lot of my Patreon pledge money goes towards materials for projects and upgrades for my overall setup (as well as really fun stuff like health insurance π ) so y'all are a huge part of everything I make. Thank you for allowing me to do this silly stuff for a JOB. It blows my mind every day that I get to cook up nonsense like this and carry it out π
Anyways, wish me luck on this year's Halloween power creep because this will probably kick my ass lol

Wait wait wait. So I was doing a rewatch of your ugly Christmas corset video. Does this mean that your winter project might be a Krampus????
Youβve obviously done a tone, a TONE of research but just incase want to suggest packing foam specifically for your wings! I used it to make some angel wings they were incredibly light, very lovely movement, and most importantly cheap! took me just a single night! But seriously canβt wait to see it when all said and done! π
I CANNOT WAIT
YESSSS awesome idea GOOD LUCK SOLDIER
Good luck and god speed my friend
That sounds like a lot of brain cells will get roasted. π But also like a lot of fun! To read this makes my brain also start to crave a new big project!
This sounds absolutely incredible π€© I'm so pumped to see progress pics!
I cannot wait to see it. Please say there is a photo of you slipping that note between Mothman's arse cheeks π
There's a video π
This sounds amazing! Iβm so excited to see how it turns out. Even half of what youβve described would be awesome.
I'm so hyped for this!!! Last year for the company Halloween party I made a Mothman inspired Jack-o'-lantern and it won 1st place (my teammates helped too, but they didn't even know who Mothman was sooooo -shrug-) This is gonna be AMAZING!!!
Girl, you've got this out the wazoo. It will be incredible. Also, I have some of those articulated fingers from your research, they are so much fun to play with.
You have 3 months!! DO IT!!! IT'LL BE AWESOME!!!!
As a side note, remember the Rosy Moths are native to West Virginia, too. SO in theory your lil guy could in fact be fabulously colorful
omfg yesssssssssssssss \o\ /o/ \o/
This is insane. I love it
HELL (and I will not understate this) YEAH!!!!
