Granny squares and lumpy π
A couple other things I crocheted during this first day! The granny squares definitely helped me get the hang of the double crochet stitch. I think my tension improved a bit throughout too (I did the left one first, then the right one).
To close out the night I wanted to do a super quick project so I did a couple of strawberries based on this tutorial: https://youtu.be/q38P7FrsmXs?si=W5hBnfdHsdqQvj9I
They're prettttyyy rough but I was getting tired while I was working on them, I still like em even though they're lumps ππ«

Could the strawberries on vines be used as decorative ties on your strawberry armor?
Fantastic work for a starter! I never had the patience for granny squares and mostly made Aragumi. Took me years to get comfortable. They are adorable.
You're doing great! So much progress already, just since the other day! Strawberries are adorable and I shall have to go make some myself now π
It honestly looks really good! 3d shapes, especially small ones, can be super tricky! Been crocheting for many years now, but when I first started out, I crocheted completely wrong for the first YEAR and had no idea π€£
I think you did a great job for your first few crochet projects! It gets easier in no time π
Awesome progress and projects for your first day! Soon you'll get to experience having a yarn stash π€£
Awww, cute lumpy berries!
Looking good!
