Basic preparation of drum and bass stems
Using un eq'd, uncompressed samples I am starting to build the riddim for july. This video shows how I go about the first stages - basically drums, bass and chops - I set these up so they are in their place and filtered in order to give myself a clearer idea of the 'space' I have left in a tune. All too many times I built a riddim which even tho the idea might have sounded great in my head - once I had all the instruments recorded I just ended up with a ball of low and mid freqencies that sounded terrible on a sound system.
By sorting out a few basic things (doesn't mean you are committed to any of the parts) this allows you to mimimize future mistakes and allows you to spot them easier.......... hope you enjoy!!!! God Bless and Stay Safe.

Is there a way to access previous stems that were held in Mega? Thanks
For the moment they are still available through the facebook group. I will be closing the group soon but not before giving people time to download the stems. Would love to keep it open but just ain't got the time and I think it has served it's purpose! Bless
Ok, thanks! Im working out a whole new pc and DAW so ill look for some plugins - its old style synth 'drum sounds' isn't it?
Hi Tina. You can use a synare/space drum, but am also working on some new ones using an EHX Crash Pad.
This is great! I have a little request in that Id like to know how you create that sound, the UFF sound??
It’s ok with the link ! Thanks
If the problem persists I will make it public. Just wanted to post it here before opening it up on youtube.
