Hey everyone! Ashe 1.4 and Asherana 1.1 are now available in Early Access for Recruit and higher, with PC and Xbox arriving together.

Ashe 1.4 brings a major expansion to her Skyrim main-quest involvement, a fuller slow-burn romance, and The Phantom Ache, a new reflection on who she is becoming after Chapter 7. Her family’s history gives her personal reasons to care about the Dragonborn’s journey, while new moments throughout her own quest let you see her trust and affection develop through your choices together.
Across the writing, voiced dialogue, features, and implementation, this has grown into roughly two content updates in one. By my estimate, Ashe 1.4 alone includes roughly twice as much content as Ashe 1.1 and about a third more than Asherana’s debut release. Plenty was also cut or saved for later -- I wanted the additions to earn their place.

What’s new in Ashe 1.4
A major Skyrim main-quest awareness expansion. From Bleak Falls Barrow through the aftermath of Alduin, Ashe has more to contribute throughout the journey. I wanted her history to belong within Skyrim’s world: her family’s past, her own safety, and the people she cares about give familiar quests personal stakes. There are new romantic moments along the way, too (this is dependent on whether Ashe has been romanced and/or fantasy mode has been enabled if Serana has been romanced too).
A more developed slow-burn romance. New scenes across her questline give affection time to emerge through trust, vulnerability, and some very Ashe attempts to explain her feelings. Your choices and relationship progression matter. I’m particularly proud of this writing; I wanted her eventual confession to feel like the culmination of moments you’ve actually shared.
The Phantom Ache. This new post-Chapter 7 story beat gives Ashe room to reflect on who she is becoming. It responds to her ethical development and your relationship, continuing her character arc while laying groundwork for what comes next.
More continuity and player agency. New Chapter 1 follow-ups explore lingering questions about her family and past. Chapter 2 gives you more ways to read Nevas’s intentions and uncover his deception, with Ashe responding to how you approach the investigation.
Selected Daedric quest awareness and personal conversations. These focus on places where Ashe’s history, body, or worldview gives her something distinct to say. Away from those quests, new conversations explore her memories, beliefs, and the quieter parts of her life.
More flexibility during everyday adventuring. Like Serana in Version 4.4, Ashe can take a break and interact with her surroundings. Ashe can also adjust outfit switching and catch-up behavior, or use the optional recruitment skip on a repeat playthrough. If you’ve already experienced her introduction, that last option lets you pick up your partnership without replaying the prologue.
There’s also expanded spoken-name coverage, seven custom conversations, fifteen new story name-drop variants, new animation moments, and quest/dialogue improvements. Threads of Her Past offers optional journal guidance for discovering character content.
In response to your feedback, most generic impressionist awareness dialogue now belongs to new, dedicated NPCs, giving Ashe more opportunities to interact with Skyrim without adding mismatched voices to familiar characters. Khajiit awareness voices and impressionist dialogue for quest-relevant characters such as Calcelmo remain. All voices continue to be performed by human actors, with no voice-cloning AI. No separate opt-out patch is needed.

Ashe & Serana Banter 1.1
Asherana expands their friendship through new travel, dungeon, and post-combat conversations, shared quest reactions, and relationship awareness. There’s more room for them to tease each other, disagree, and offer support. Underlying conversation fixes also address looping and improve cooldown handling.
I’m happy with how much this has grown beyond 1.0. Future Asherana content development will slow down now that there’s a substantial body of material, giving SDA’s sunset updates more room.
A quick note on Ashe’s horse
Early Access includes the horse dialogue and riding mechanic, using an ordinary horse as a temporary visual placeholder. I obtained a license for the previewed asset, but Daz declined permission to distribute it in this specific mod use. The steampunk horse assets are therefore excluded from the download.
A replacement design is planned. The earlier horse showcase remains a proof of concept for the intended design; its appearance does not represent the Early Access download.
Guides and feedback
Please give the full changelog and encounter guides a read. This overview only covers the highlights, and the guides help you find the new content. Story spoilers are separated.
Early Access is planned to run for about one month, with full public release targeted for the end of November.
I’m sorry this took longer than planned. A family medical emergency and other obstacles disrupted things this year. Giving you quality work is still the goal, and I don’t want to rush it just to meet a date.
More showcase videos are in production and coming soon. Meanwhile, you can watch the recruitment-skip preview, sweetroll animation preview, and horse proof of concept above.
Thank you for sticking with me and supporting the work. I hope you enjoy this next part of the journey with Ashe and Serana!
