Let's talk about mixing kicks! [VIDEO]
I received a good question: what do I take into account in mixing kicks?
In this video, I go thru the things I always look for when mixing kick drums.
Covering the plugins I always use and go through some thoughts.
If these won't make the kick work, the kick probably sucks!

Yo Fanu, Noticed the mono plugin on your chain, are you usually making the stereo kicks (most samples these days) / Kick Stems - mono before doing your kick mixing?

No but if they’re really wide, I usually restrict the width a bit. Really wide kicks sound odd to me.
