Pro-Q3 sidechained dynamic EQing
Showing you a quick tip and one of my favorite mixing “tricks” with FabFilter Pro-Q3: sidechained dynamic EQing.
Basically one track is telling the EQ on another track to cut the signal whenever the signal plays.
You can use this in a very broad "compressor style" or get very specific. Showing them both in the video.

Woohoo so that’s how it can be done in Live! In FL it’s pretty easy to avhieve with stock plugins, although takes some time to figure out right formula. Nice, thanks for the tip sensei!
Glad you found it useful!
Yeah that was my next thought
Upgrade looming then!
A workaround in Ableton Live would be to map Envelope Follower to the gain of Pro-Q2's EQ node 🤔
Do you know if Q2 does this mate?
Sadly not: the dynamic action and sidechaining didn't happen until Q3.
