Producing breakbeats
Let's talk about making a CUSTOM BREAKBEAT (as opposed to chopping an existing one):
-what to take into account,
-workflow,
-how to best browse drums and use similarity search,
-why VCA compressor is your friend in drum bus
-where to get some good drumsounds etc.
I'm also showing some processing that helped me nail the.
Also talking where I got that bass, Ableton "CRACK" and why you should use it on your drums, where you should look to get fresh breaks etc...this should be an episode jam-packed with inspo!
For more in this vein, see the collection for Music Production.
PS: Will continue with Mini mix/production miniseries after this.

Tune is heavy
Thank you! Gotta celebrate that girth!
Do you ever consider bouncing custom breaks out to audio and then chopping them? I've always thought it seemed like a needless step when you could just keep working with the MIDI but it seems popular so there must be some reason why people do it
I’m a control freak so I don’t bounce them, ha!
