Amigo Sampler + Breakbeat Of The Month #5 [video + sample download]
I recently got the dope Amigo Sampler, and got a song going with it. Wanted to give you a little look into how the Amigo Sampler works...it sounds dope!
The break I happened to use was very fitting for a new Breakbeat Of The Month episode.

Enjoying BBOTM, thanks! Bagged Amigo. The simplicity is why us so fun. Microdeal Stereo Master was my first explorations with making music, well sound design before i knew what sound design was. Big Up Sekl Make or Break too! Quality label.
This plugin def demonstrates that simplicity can often inspire!
Have you tried Grooveagent from Steinberg? Best drum sampler in the game I reckon. Ping pong loop on hit points, and you can get velocity to modulate amp/filter envelope attack, decay and release seperately in combination or all three at the same time, and it shows what is happening to the waveform as well. You can have 32 channel outs to process the drums using third party plug ins as well. You can layer up to 128 samples on one note and you can set it to round robin, random or random exclusive! It doesn't get talked about much but it's a beast.
Ooh that does sound good! Think I’ve gotta look Groove Agent up!
Oh snap, I just been processing this break! I thought it was a second gen break, didn't realise it's straight from the funk!!!
The chord memory is a cool touch also.
Yessir! Even some old Korg synths had that. Wanted to keep this a little more drums-focused, but I'll prob do a little second session later with some of the new upcoming features too and check that out and how the interpolation plays a role too.
I haven’t had time to watch yet, but I just wanted to chime in with praise for Amigo. So much fun to play with, both for drums and melodic elements. 🙌🏻
Yes it’s fun! Just joined the beta too and there’s a few more features. Slices can loop < > now too 👌🏻
Just joined the beta, and I'm happy to see slices can now be looped! <3
The remix of mine I play in the beginning using the break is on this EP: https://makeorbreak.bandcamp.com/album/control-signal-ep
